As a comparison, the Turbo Busa that went 256 mph in a standing mile (Maxton) last year "only" puts out 380-390 rwhp, and according to the builders, is geared to go 270 mph, and at the end of the mile, still has some pull left in it! It sounds like tires and traction are the big limiting factors on these mega turbo bikes. After 400 or so hp, getting the power to the ground is very difficult. The quickest street Busa I know of (6.89 at 201 mph in the quarter) doesn't even have 500 hp.
