Default Official DCX Media Information, New SRT\'s

Hi All,

Although I'll move this information to the appropriate forums shortly, I thought it important enough (as we now have a direct line to DC Marketing for LOTS of info) to post it here!

Enjoy!

-------- DIRECT FROM OUR FRIENDS AT DCX --------

With the success and continued demand of SRT products, DC is aggressively expanding the SRT lineup. The Chrysler 300C SRT8 launched earlier this year and the Magnum SRT8 will launch this summer. On top of these, two additional SRT products will be announced later this month at the New York Auto Show.

****NOTE: THE FIRT WAS JUST UNVEILED TODAY ON REGIS... GRAND CHEROKEE SRT-8!

"Faster than a Cayenne!"

Various marketing activities have been planned to support the growing accomplishments of the SRT models. Some of these actions are listed below.

SRT Track Experience

Beginning in April, every customer purchasing an SRT model will obtain the right to attend the SRT Track Experience, a one day performance driving class conducted by a professional driving school on selected tracks. We expect approximately 25 track events around the country in 2005.

SRT Campaign

An SRT campaign has been launched this year to increase the awareness for SRT and to explain to our customers what SRT stands for. One of the many elements of this campaign was the creation of separate SRT websites, launched earlier this year. There is more to come, though.

SRT Events

We will continue to have select events sponsored by SRT (Daytona, SEMA, etc.) to further increase consumer awareness.
With the start of the spring selling season around the corner, now is the perfect time to showcase our great SRT products. We’ll inform you after the New York Auto Show with more detail and material highlighting the SRT line-up.

Default UNOFFICIAL OPINION from the VCA!!!

How about boosting the power on the original SRT, the Viper. It's a damn shame to add only 50hp over 10 years to the flagship SRT. Please pass this back to the National Media Director via that direct line you mentioned.

I have to second that motion. I for one could give a rat's patootie how fast a Jeep is. In fact, if you think speed is a good measure of a Jeep then I think the earth will start spinning backwards very soon. Jeeps have long been the flagship of OFF ROAD vehicles. I knew when DC bought American motors they would screw it up.

A Jeep should be able to traverse the roughest terrain known to man.

A Viper should be faster than any other vehicle known to man!

Stop mixing apples and oranges.

Signed - a purist!

More power, more power, more power.

Make the V10 600 cid if you have to, but give us more power.

Correction:

Viper HP iscrease over the last 10 years was 100HP, 400 to 500.

I have a SRT RAM QC and love it. My Jeep Overland will be repalced with a SRT Jeep when available!

Love the SRT's.

What other manufacturer can claim a Super Performance Sports, a Performance Truck to trailer your sports car for track days, a Sport Ute, Hemi, that spanks all other Ute's on road or off! The Neon which is a great performance car and easy on the pocketbook, Chrysler 300 SRT for getting to Church on time, and a Magnum SRT for getting to Soccer practice.

Performance-wise they have continued to deliver. Style-wise they didn't quite live up to the past. But as long as they keep the performance coming, I'll reluctantly accept the posers and their "true convertible" attitude.

New emissions certification needed for 2007. Seems like a good time to get a new engine approved.

The emission certification cost is very high, preventing Dodge from changing the motor now. Perhaps the new couple will be sold as a 2007?

- To hire the designer of the Corolla to create the SRT10?
- Having people confuse the new viper with the old camaro?
- A redegined neon that blows the doors off the flagship car in $$$/Performance?
- Having people confuse the new viper with the ricey S2000?
- Building an unstreetable CompCoupe that causes wet dreams and then delivering a hardtop SRT10?
- Having people confuse the new viper with the old Stratus?
- Neon SRT, Crossfire SRT, 300C SRT, Ram SRT, Grand Cherokee SRT, Liberty SRT, Pacifica SRT, Caravan SRT, Mr. Coffee Deluxe SRT...
- Oh, I did I mention the outhouse-special design?

Let me guess, SRT knows we want cruise control, traction control, automatic with paddle shifters, and a 4cyl model for mpg, right? Please... I no longer have respect for any company who thinks this is the future of cool cars:

It'd sure be nice to see some Viper discussion in the "General Viper Forum". Perhaps I'll find some in the Corvette forum?

Has there been any thought to creating a "Dodge Advertising Forum"? That way we can take a look when we're interested, but not have to run into it every time we're looking to fulfill a Viper discussion fix.
