Ford invested big to get AM to profit, now they are selling? The only reason could be that R&D money has stopped flowing to AM and the future looks like the past, no new products and thus no new buyers on the horizon.

Wow. $2 Billion Dollars? That is a pretty steep price for the chain but I assume they will get it. Ford is in horrible trouble now and I guess desperate times call for desperate measures. I am eager to see who ends up purchasing it though.

I'd like to see DCX buy it.
British styling, German engineering and American muscle. Can you imagine an SRT/DB9?

Looks like a Mazda RX-8 on steroids.

Ironically, Mazda is owned by Ford as well...

The Brits would NEVER go for that, let alone the Germans. AMG... maybe, but SRT? No way.

Diamler-Jaguar - there have been past connections between the Germans and the Brits. My XKR has German parts in it!

Do they really care how buys it? (as people do with their car?)

They are going to hold Jag for some time. Not profitable. Nobody wants it. Sunken asset. Maybe in 2 years.

Ferrari should buy Aston. Major competitor down the drain. Make it second fiddle to Ferrari. Secure their market.

Ever wonder why the head of Aston joined Jag? There is your answer. Aston has been on the chopping block for some time.

Is there any name worse for them than FORD? The company that made the same model-T for 20 years and objective was to make a horseless carriage to simple get you from point A to point B?

Believe me... the hardcore Brits I know here (Classic Jag collectors) HATES that fact... just like the Swedes HATE that ford owns Volvo. I was looking to buy one of their SUV's a couple years ago, and when I had casually mentioned the Ford buyout, the salesman spent the next 20 minutes emphasizing that there were "NO FORD PARTS" in their SUV's... He had to remind me one more time before I left, as if that was the strongest selling point to a Volvo.

Screw them. I left and bought a Ford. I know it still ends up in the same pocket, but I can't ever see myself owning a car brand by people who unabashedly hate this country.
