Modified Radical SR3 - 1100pounds/ 275HP

A friend brought his modified Radical SR3 to the Chin event at Homestead today. The weather was perfect. Clear sky, high fifties to low sixties. He was kind enough to give me a ride on the 2.2 mile road course for 15 minutes. What a total blast. The car is magnificent. Incredibly fast. Sticks like glue. Eats turns like it needs them to survive. I did a little research just now. ( See Road and Track's 2006 article.) If you order the chassis and engine separately, the vehicle can be assembled with an additional street kit that Radical sells and the car can actually be titled and registered as a kit car. I would not do this in Miami for fear of being run over by a cell phone using person in an SUV at a stop light on South Dixie Highway, but if someone lives in a more rural area, what fun it would be to have a Radical for the street. Has anyone else had a ride or driven one of these little rockets?
