It is with a heavy heart that I report that the March 29th Hooters carshow has been delayed until further notice They want to have a 1st class huge carshow and have decided to delay it to allow for better and more planning.

Soooooooooooooooo, instead of doing the Hooters carshow on Saturday and the Nopi show on Sunday, we will do Nopi on Saturday and can return on Sunday as well for those who want to go both days. This isn't the major Nopi show that will be held in September, but is still a great show with dragracing, and other events. I will email/post more details about the Nopi show as I get them.

New event: April 27, 2008: SRT Track Experience at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

The club meeting that was originally scheduled for April 29th is going to be pushed back to May 17. The reason for this is, we are VERY busy in May, and I don't want to burn anyone out on Viper events. We will have the meeting during the Norcross, GA carshow that we'll be attending. Norcross has a restaurant in the middle of downtown, which is where we'll have the meeting. The carshow is also downtown so we can eat on the patio and still be able to see the cars in the show including ours. I'll see about reserving parking places right in front of the restaurant for the Vipers. As usual, the club will pay for your meal and any non-alcoholic beverages. The registration fee for the carshow is $20. As a bonus, the club will also pay the $20 registration fee for any GA-VCA members who have their Viper in the show! I'll send out more details about the carshow as the event gets closer.

New event:

May 31: Kennesaw Hooters. Charity carshow for a girl who needs a kidney transplant. GA-VCA will pay entry fee for all GA-VCA members. More details (meeting time, location, etc) will be emailed out when the date gets closer.

A few updates to let everyone know about:

The carshow/dragracing that was scheduled for August 9th has been CANCELED. In the past, the show/race was sponsored by Dodge and Vipers were extremely welcome. This year, Dodge is not sponsoring the event and some import car website is the sponsor and it is only import dragracing from 7:30pm-1am on August 23rd. Since we now have no events scheduled for August, me and the AL/TN President are trying to get together a weekend long event where the AL/TN club will be coming to Atlanta for some car type events and a possible trip to Stone Mountain to watch the laser show. We are also working on something special for any wives/gf's who want to come but not necessarily do whatever car event we come up with.

The Hayes/Mopar show for Sept. 5&6 has also changed formats a little bit. This year it is called the "Hayes Automotive American Muscle Meet" and is not a "Mopar only" show. It is open to all makes and models. The event is still going to feature a carshow, dragracing, burnout contest, free dyno, car corral and vendors! The event will be held at Atlanta Dragway (Commerce, GA). Further details/schedule info can be found at Hayes Family Dealerships | Lawrenceville, Gainesville, and Baldwin Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep dealer and more. . You can not register online, all fees (show, dragracing, etc) are to be paid at the gate. I am working on getting us reserved parking for the show and will send updates as I receive them.

The NOPI Nationals show which will be held at AMS on Sept. 20-21 is STILL happening just under the name "Motorsports Nationals". As far as I know, nothing else has changed. I will also be trying to get us reserved parking in the "exotic cars" area as we have had in the past years.

Straight from the Nopi website:

"The Supershow will have much of the same look and feel as in years gone by, with thousands of show cars and trucks in the car show, a gigantic burn out contest, tons of industry vendors and booths, live music from top artists, and of course a swimsuit competition which will include all those beautiful girls you’ve come to expect whenever J.Bird hits a motorsports stage! The one new element the show will include for 2008 will be drag racing!"


So looks like everything will be the same (including the bikini contest ) PLUS some dragracing (prob 1/8 mile)!

The GA-VCA Christmas party will be moved to DECEMBER 6TH. The reason being, the original date (Dec. 13) conflicted with the big Viper races that will be down in Bradenton, FL. I know several of you want to go to the races and I didn't want anyone having to choose between the club Christmas party and the races. Besides the date, we have no confirmed plans for the party. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. We can always go back to Andretti's for go-cart racing or if someone has a new idea, let me know! I'll send out an email around October with different suggestions and let everyone vote on their favorite. So, if you have an idea, let me know!
