Hi Scott. You played a mean trick on me, sending me pics of my car with one of those hoods on.
Do they really help ALOT with the heat buildup? I didnt know you were doing trades with stock hoods or else I would have had you swap them out when my car was down there.Oh well. What kind of difference are we talking on the hood? Painted. |

The advantages to this hood are never ending. Not only is the workmanship great.we have raised the center section 1 1/4".which gives it a beautiful look without loosing the factory look.More importantly is engine longevity. The factory hood has insulation under the hood to protect the paint from the heat but unfortunately nothing protecting the engine. The only release is the to side vents that are sandwiched against the fender walls. As anyone knows the biggest battle on an all aluminum engine has is heat,it MUST release it to guaranty long and reliable life of the motor. The factory hood traps the heat and as we all know aluminum does not dissipate heat well. What is amazing and anyone that has our hoods will attest to is when driving the car, watching the heat vapors rise from all of the vents. So in ending this is not only one of the best cosmetic upgrades you can do to your car it is also one of the best if not the best answer for a long and trouble free life with a cool motor.Unfortunately we cannot credit alot for your takeoff hood as our hoods have dropped the market considerably. But without insulting anyone we will sell our hood for 3K with your gen2 takeoff in good shape, although we rcomend selling yours privately or saving as the value will be higher |
