Default New to the Viper world and have some questions...

Hello all. I just purchased a one-owner 1997 Dodge Viper GTS with 13,000 miles. So far I am absolutely thrilled with the car! Smooth power and runs like a dream!

However, when I purchased the car the dealer stated that the car had a K/N air intake, Borla cat-back exhaust and a dealer-installed "custom chip". I come from a 5 liter mustang background, so the common Viper mods are a bit new to me. Is there a dealer-installed chip setup that is pretty common with Viper guys? What's the best way to I.D. that? What would you say are the other top 5 or 10 bolt-on mods that get done to Gen II Vipers?

Thanks for any information you can provide and have a great day!

GORGEOUS GTS!!! Congratulations!! I would call Chuck Tator (our resident Viper Wizard) with your question: 1-914-763-3136...don't know about a chip setup...we bought a VECII computer system, is that what you mean? (For you, maybe a VECI?) GREAT mods tho...exhaust & intake! ~juli

No chips in these cars.

M&M Performance headers would be a good next choice.

That's what I thought about the chip, but when the dealer said that I just went with it. Thanks for the information.
