Compared to others your stock 01 seems too high and a little too low for the mods. Bruce

I agree with Bruce. A 2001 stock @ 420 rwhp seems abnormally high and 418 with your new mods seems abnormally low. If you were to get 440 rwhp with your new mods you should feel lucky. As far as the gear change other say you will dyno lower because of it, but I don't know. Was it at the same dyno and are the numbers SAE corrected? If you want to see what other cars have done, check out my web site below I have many 2001 dyno numbers with mods listed.

We have about a dozen of so 2000-2001 Vipers in our dyno database. For these years, typically, we see about 30-35rwhp gain with Belanger headers, exhaust and high flow cats (earlier years are closer to 45-50rwhp). On average, a stock 2000-01 pulls about 400rwhp and 442ft/lbs. After mods around 430-435 rwhp and 475-480 ft.lbs.
I would also check a couple things from your dyno chart comparision. Are both runs showing SAE corrected power? What are the correction factors? Start with this and then we can go from there. Feel free to give me a call today at the shop and I can provide you with more numbers. You can reach me at 408.562.1000 Thx. -Wayne |

For what it's worth, my '01 dyno'd at 415 rwhp / 449 rwtq with Corsa 3" catbacks only, and smooth tubes/K&Ns added 10 rwhp and 10 ft-lbs.
Also, when I dyno'd my '97 before and after the 3.55 gear, on the same dyno, SAE corrected, there was about 10 hp and 10 ft-lbs difference (lower with the 3.55 gear). |
