Default Side Sill Insulation

Need some information on the glue or epoxy that Dodge uses to hold the insulation in the side sill, to the side sill. I would have to think it is a high heat material just can't find one that I would think would work. My insulation came loose when the body shop was painting the side sills. Hate to have that move around in the side sill and burn up a new paint job. Thanks

Just use some high temp RTV (the orange stuff).

Obviously what Dodge is using can be improved upon since i had the same problem.
Don't worry too much about the insulation moving aroud, there is no room for it,the insulation is sandwiched between the sills and the exhaust/converter,Dodge use the glue more for ease/speed of instalation by their "Craftpersons" than for any other reasons.
You new paint job will not last longer than the factory one (yellowing) if you don't either lower the exhaust temp or add to the poorly designed insulation.

JonB's front louver vents for the side sills, really help cut down heat in the sills also to prevent yellowing. Quick & easy install! Nice to have even with high flow cats and exhaust. I use them and love them.

Hey wilddude,

I don't have pics. at the moment, but I know someone here does. Thats where I first saw them (back about 8 months ago). As far as cost, I think I remember paying around 60-70? bucks. I'm sure JonB. will see this post soon and let you know the right $.

I love'em!
