Im looking to replace my clutch soon. Rumor has it, that the Mopar replacement clutch disc that is being sold now is not as good as the originals built in 96/97 time frame. Is there any truth to this rumor? If so, what other aftermarket clutches will work better that the original? I am interested in your experiences with clutches other than stock. Thanks Tim

Wondering at what mileage your clutch went out or is slipping????? Still original????
It seems that most people at stock or near stock motors go with factory clutches from Mopar, call JonB, and seem to be about 20-25K if "normal" driving, wondering if you fit the bill?? Thanks, Ryan in the process of my first GTS and feel the clutch is at the end of it's useful life at 22K on the original. |

I have been selling the newer Mopar clutches made by LUK, to several tuners and racers such as SW, etc... My personal car has a newer stock clutch and I dont have any problems with it. It holds 750+ RWHP and Over 900 torque. I have heard rumors that the newer clutchs don't hold up from internet racers who can't lay down a number. If you are interested in a clutch we have them for 270.00. Retail is over 360.00

Al, have you or anybody you know tried clutches other than the mopar brand? What were the results? Is the price you quoted just for the disk, or does it include the pressure plate? Thanks Tim

All I can tell you is this internet racer, who has the fastest stock motor viper on record 11.05@124. I replaced the original clutch after four years of outstanding service. The replacement didn't last a year. I punish a clutch with a soft launch on M/T DOTs. I also do 1.45 sixties. Not a drive out and have the bottle make up for it down track. If your on street tires or drive out and lock it up in a few feet the replacement will be fine. My sample is a one clutch experience, but the story from Mecca is they lighted up the springs to appease the NGR hence less efficient clutch. I'm going to try a Centerforce, but who knows the replacement might be better.
