Default Normal operating temp question.

I just want to make sure my 96 GTS is in the acceptable range.

The gauge fluctuates from the first mark past the 190 and goes up about an 3/16 inch or so and then comes back down when the fan kicks on. This is in about 70 Deg air. I am guessing it ranges between 200 and 210?

My 400 HP small block Chevy in my 69 Camaro runs much cooler so I was wondering if this is normal operating temp.

Thanks

My gauge hangs out at the third middle center line.and creeps a little more in stop n go...sounds about like yours.I have to keep an eye on mine ,because of the dreaded 01 waterpump issue...

Your temp range seems to be normal.

When I had my first GTS (97 model), it took me a while to realize that the thing was not going to overheat. Seems like the gauge moves around more than any other car I have owned.

that is normal in city driving

It's not normal for highway driving. if you're cruisin at 80 in 5th or 6th gear the needle shouldn't move very much.
