I have a 2001 GTS. I need to replace my passenger front and passenger left wheel due to some curb-surfing. I found a couple of places that sell refirbished wheels but they offer them in chrome and Polished silver.
Which of the 2 would match my existing factory wheels? Thanks for any input anyone has. P.S. If anyone has some 2001 GTS wheels they want to sell that would be cool too. -Keith |

Check the classifieds on this site or eBay. Lots of stock take-off wheels for sale.
You can have curb rash fixed for about $50-75 per wheel. |

The polished silver match your stockers...but make sure they are clearcoated, your stocker wheels are polished and clear coated.
And FYI: www.aaarims.com has your fronts for $498 and your rears for $548...But I'd bet JonB at PartsRack has what you need in stock, and could beat those prices...and guaranteed to match perfect. |

Thanks guys. I tried aaawheels.com and they seem pretty resonable but I couldnt get ahold of anyone there. I emailed JonB and am waiting to hear from him. Im hoping he has them.
Anthony. You should see my front wheel. I wish it was just a curb rash. I got my oil changed at the local lube place. They were itching for me to do a burnout. I forgot that there was probably some oil residue from the pit on my tires. In mid burnout, I did a 180 over the curb and took a half/golfball sized chunk out of the wheel to add to the Downtown Chicago pothole dents. Im going to replace the front right. The back right I will replace and get the current one fixed so I have a rear to keep in rotation. Due to my willingness to showoff but inability to adequately execute, its probably a good idea to have 1 or 2 good wheels lying around. The front is most likely not fixable. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR INPUT! |

Exact same thing happened to me. Showing off, did a 180. Hit the curb on the other side of the street. Took out a 1" x 2" piece of rim. No repair possible. Bought a used rim from Jon B. Expensive lesson. Could have been alot worse if parked cars/people were nearby. Probably a lesson I needed to learn now rather than later. Probably not a better driver now, just a more careful one.
Good luck on the repair/replacement. Greg W |

Darn. I am having a heck of a time finding wheels. I exhausted 3 internet wheel re-fab places (none of them had any) and PartsRack doesn't know if he wants to break up a set of 4.
Someone on this page has to have some ACR or GTS wheels that they replaced with HREs. I may buy whole set if that what it takes. |

Warren G I mean S
- thanks for the input but they were my first try. They appear to have everything but the didnt have any. Kind of like Best Buy. They appear to have everything but they dont have any of it in stock. Thanks again for the input. The quest continues. I would get a sweet set of HREs but How would they look in 18s? I want to stick with 18s. Keith |

You just need to get the rims fixed! Wheels America does it for a little over $100 per wheel! I had one done when I curb checked mine. They have a one day turnaround and it looked just like new when I got it back. You'd be AMAZED at what is fixable! I've seen some REALLY nasty looking rims come back looking perfect. If there are chunks missing, they even weld in new aluminum and polish it. Only you will know it was repaired. Much more cost effective than replacements!

What BigCarrot said. I was wondering if your wheels are destroyed? If not they can be inexpensively resurfaced/reconditioned and you would never know they were damaged.
www.fixrim.com That is Wheels America's site they do it for a flat fee and lifetime guarantee the wheel. |

My front is destroyed. I know that. I have fixed wheels before and the front is a mess.
I was going to buy a rear so I would have a spare to swap out. I dont want the down time of having a 2 wheeled car. I like to buy 2 rims so I have rotate out the ones I mess up. Maybe Ill try wheels america. Can you send it tire and all? |

You can send it tire and rim, but you're better off sending just the rim. You'll save on shipping. You might ask, they can fix some pretty destroyed rims! If you want to buy spares, that's fine, but if you just want good looking rims back on your car in a couple of days, get them fixed. Downtime is very minimal.

Cool. I called them. They are only 20 miles from my house. So Im putting the Viper on blocks, packing up the Excursion with some wheels and going there on saturday. They said they could do my 2001 GTS wheels as long as they are not chromes. As I understand GTS wheels are polished and clear coated . . .
THANKS ALL FOR YOUR KIND HELPINGS AND ADVICES. Keith |
