After picking up a bogus speeding ticket not too long ago, it seems that I am constantly on the lookout. I must be searching in the mirror every minute or two!
I am always drawing the attention of California's finest, even if I'm just putzing along. Maybe it has something to do with the Yellow/Black color combo Anybody else seemed to be glued to the mirrors? Do the Black or non-stripe cars draw as much "attention" from the law? |

I always have an eye in the mirrors. Partly for cops and mostly for defensive driving.

What Chuck said. I like to know where everyone around me is.

Paranoid, maybe. But I hate that sick feeling I get when all of a sudden I notice a cop glued to my rear bumper- |

Yellow attracts the eye. Stripes or a wing is just asking for trouble. Cops just have to hate it when they see some guy in a flashy, nice, expensive car. None of them make any money and they have a stupid job and stupid bosses. If they have anything on the ball they must know that they are trapped like Al Bundy.
Sure, he's going to crap on you and your Viper if at all possible. He probably even hates Corvette drivers, probably even feels a little jealousy when he sees a Grand Am. You, with a yellow Viper with black stripes, don't have a chance. |

I scan front,gages,front,mirrors....Anyone getting closer from behind is either crazier than me or more likely a cop.Of course V1 is always on. Bruce

Being 25 I get a parade of cops following me around town. I'm surprised they haven't pulled me over yet for not having a front plate
I'm hesitant to get a vanity plate because I know that will only egg them on. Maybe I should get: NOT A DLR I wonder how many times they've checked my record |

I am always looking for chicks in my rear view mirror. I slow down when I see them.

Being aware of your surrounds is a basic driving skill many ignore. This is one of the topics discussed in performance driving/racing schools. Look ahead 3-5 seconds(what is 3-5 seconds in front of you) and check(glance) your mirrors(Three, L side, rear view, r side), every few seconds.
One interesting observation. Check your mirrors, most of you likely see about the same thing in each mirror? Proper use is to have the left mirror pick - up where the rear view stops to cover the common blind spot(should not be blind) due to improper adjustment. R mirror covers the right where the rear stops. You should be able to see a car on the left or right in the side mirror or out your side window without a 100 degree neck turn. Sorry for the long mirror trip but it helps if they are adjusted properly. And looking in the mirrors every minute of two is not being glued to the mirrors. Look in the mirrors(3) every few seconds. |

I always watch what is going on around me... Some people get too excited when they see an exotic and forget they are driving.
I know first hand...about a month ago some guy plowed into another car when he was looking at my Viper. Idiot. |

I have had 3 Vipers - the latest is the SRT - never received a ticket in my black/silver stripe RT, had 3 (excessive speed!) tickets in my blue/white GTS and no tickets YET in the SRT. Yesterday as I drove past some road construction in my SRT I was going about 5 mph, much slower than the cars ahead of me because the road was a mess, and the flag lady started screaming at me to "slow down, slow down..." (*ITCH!) I think all the Vipers appear to be speeding even when they are parked!!

I've had to learn to watch the mirrors closer with the Viper. People see it then drive up in my blind spot and just sit and stare. My car is also YELLOW its like driving around with a spot light on you. Cops always look.
