Default Running Hotter??

I recently had my radiatior replaced under warranty because a metal band on it came apart, got into the fan, and poked a hole in it. Now that the dealership put a new radiatior in it, the temp climbs up to the next hash mark between the 190 and 250. Before I had this warranty work done It never ran above the 3 little center hash marks at 190. It will still cycle back down to the 190's but runs to high to soot me around town. The coolant level is full any suggestions?

Is this your 2001? If so, I'm with Craig - the impellers on the waterpumps in 01 were plastic and they easily break/slip/fail. Get that impeller replaced with a metal unit and you should be fine.

Sylvan,
I believe there was a bad batch though that went on cars around 2001?

u are correct, i had one(two actually), still the design on all year waterpumps are the same). the prob was a plastic impeller shaft, w/ a metal "thimble" pressed on end to drive it. the shaft would then spin inside the end of the thimble and not turn the waterpump, and not circulate the coolant.

Mine was a water pump. Put a 180 T-stat in it too.
