I would appreciate any positive or neg. comments in regards to handling, cornering , etc. on both street and track use of the pilot sport PS2 315/30/18 on the front(not the original pilot sport.)as compared to the stock 275/18. What have you found better, (NOT to inc. sport cups), 275/18, 305/18, or 315/18 on the front? An old pmumm thread said he preffered the 305/18 over 275/18, but I dont think 315 and for sure PS2 series were out then. Thanks for your quick reply as I need to order ASAP.

Is this on a stock rim? I'm betting PMUM ran 305 tires on a 12-inch rim, probably Purners. Dunno for sure though. A 315 on a 11-inch rim might fit but you might be riding on sidewall.
Sort of like pics of fatties wearing a thong, just because it fits don't mean it's good. |

No stock rims. I have purner 11"x18"on front but will order 12" to fit 315/30/18s. Still looking for people with this set up.

I'm running 335 18's on all 4 corners. This was recommended by
both John and Bobby Archer. This set up is strictly for the track. not the street. I also have Purner wheels, not stockers. Fast Eddie |

Are you sure they make PS2 in that size?

I would venture to say you will be one of the first to wear PS2's of that size. I have 315 cups up front but wouldn't do it for the street. I know you're looking for PS2 specific info...doubt there are many running that tire in that size on the street.

What would you run on the rear? The 315*30*18 is the widest 18" Ps2 made and although the PS2 has only been out a few months, Michelin says they have no plans to make a 335*18".

What's the Michelin link that shows the SportPS2 in 345*30*18? The Pilot Sport CUP tire comes in that size but I haven't seen it in the Pilot Sport PS2

i guess you are right marv. but if you look at that link that you gave me for the "pilot sport cup" tire the tread profile in the pic looks totally different than the tread profile of my stock michhellin pilot sport tires that came on my 2001 ACR. whats up with that? confusion reigns here

I would get 12" rims if you're going to put 315's up front.

Hi Freddy,
Don't want confused. Viper first had the Michelin XGT-Z tire but could bite ya Then came the Pilot MXX3, much better and a great dry tire 1999 saw the 18" wheels standard for Viper and the Pilot Sportstire. That's what came on your Viper. Still good support from Michelin as the C1 oem tire differed from other Pilot Sports the same 18" size, (but no special C1 17" Viper Pilot Sports). My opinion was that the Pilot Sportswas better in wet weather, a softer & quieter ride than the MXX3. The MXX3 was the best for dry performance of all three though. The Sport looked kind of like like a Dunlop Sport 9000 to me Pilot Sport: Dunlop Sport 9000: Then Michelin comes out with a " Cup Tire " for the Porsche track program and expands it to the 18" Viper Sizes, but not the 1993-1998 17" Viper Sizes A DOT legal tire but no treadwear rating. Newest tire is the Pilot Sport PS2. Not like the V Channel tread of the Pilot Sport your car came with at all, it is said to be the best yet. BUT last time I talked to Michelin the said there were no plans to make their latest and greatest performance tire in 17" or 18" Viper sizes, I see that after more than a decade of Michelin being the only OEM Viper Tire didn't carry much weight or loyalty for them to continue making their tires in those sizes in the future, despite other tire companies making them in Viper Sizes.
