Hey guys,
With all these amazing prices on these extremely low millage vipers I am considering purchasing one and bringing it into canada! Does anyone know what duty/taxes etc. would have to be paid on top of if the warrenty (extended or normal) is valid here?? Any help would be appreciated! |

Don't know too much, but I sold my 2000 to someone in Canada and it wasn't a big deal. Send an email or PM to Mike Adams (he's on the board).

The model years that have seat belts attached to the floor (i.e. air bag cars) should meet Canadian occupant safety requirements. I imported a '94 from Canada to US, so I had to change from what were airbag belts (i.e. over your shoulder to the inside of the car, no roll-ups in the door) to roll-up in the door belts. I know the emissions requirements and performance are the same back then.

Check the web site http://www.riv.com
Everything is explained there. If you want a "cheap" Viper go to Toronto. I am from Montreal and I bought my Viper in Toronto. Saved about 15000$CAN. You don't need to bother yourself with importation. But everything is relative. The US market is larger so it is normal that prices are lower. Check this web site for vipers on sale in Toronto: http://www.trader.ca/Search/Default.asp?Category=1 |

What year are you looking at ? How cheap is cheap. Remember you will be paying GST and your local provincial tax on the conversion. If you are in Ontario and you buy private you will not have to pay the GST just the PST that is a 7% savings plus not Broker to pay, no government inspections and no waiting for you door sticker to say it is compliant. If you do decide to import it I can give you a phone number to guys that do it everyday.

It will cost a lot to ship it across the ocean all the way to Canada, I can tell you that.
