Does anybody know a formula to convert 1/8 mile drag times that would be close to an actual 1/4 mile run? This weekend,I ran 7.093@ 97.17 and a 7.37@102.98. How do these times relate to a 1/4 mile run? Thanks Tim

there isn't an "exact" formula, but I can tell you that I run 7.1 to 7.2 and end up 11.1 and 11.2 in the 1/4. My mph is 97 to 99mph. My 60's on these runs have been low 1.7's.
When I get a low 1.6 or better I will hit a 10.9 IMO and low 7.0 in the 1/8. |

Somewhere on this site I came across a conversion factor of 1.53 for Vipers. Our factor is lower than average because they are stronger the longer the run. That would take your 7.093 to a 10.85229. I ran a 6.947 Friday.
One size doesn't fit all with factors and Vipers. We all have the same traction problems on the start. The huge hp cars will pick up more on the back half than the lower hp cars will with a good launch. |
