The real estate market is doing me so well, that I am considering adding a supercharger in celebration.
I have found alot of info on blown vs. tt, etc. what i am wondering though, is at what point do you do more than add the supercharger or TT? In other words, when do you upgrade the brakes, and to what? at what point are the upgraded half-shafts needed? when is the fuel system upgraded? what else am i not thinking of that pertains to this question? thanks in advance |

Glad to give some prices since your close!
Brakes:I'd get stainless lines from Snake oyl and better fluid.EBC green pads are decent with less dust, for now.The Roe blower is still the best price/resale with guarantees. Modding, you got the right idea. |

IF you are looking for a car with Less problems The Twin Turbo is the way to go. Trust me I have both. With the suipercharger you will be constantly checking and changin belts and it is really loud. TT really is the best all around performer |

Thank you for that - but I am still asking the same question. It looks like your 98 GTS is a really nice car. At what point did you feel you had to upgrade the half shafts? Are your brakes still stock, and if not when did you change? I guess what I am really wondering is - up to the XX horsepower level, what stock components can still be used safely? I am wondering about upgrading some parts before adding more power to be on the safe side instead of adding the power, and breaking things. |

There is also a few DIY turbo kits coming out. Paolo is in Chicago and Heffner is in Maryland. You might visit one of those guys and take a look at the product.

Stock brakes are fine for anything you can drive on the street.
Stock fuel system is fine to 600 RWHP. Half shafts should be upgraded with any type of blower especially if you are going to do hard launches with sticky tires. |

If you do not care about brake dust, I can sell you some ferodo(don't remember the exact model # off hand) front pads and some performance friction rear pads. The aggressive pads with some braided stainless brake lines will achieve a noticeable improvement in your car's braking performance. In addition to the Unitrax titanium supershafts, I would also recommend picking up a pair of Unitrax 1/2 shaft loops. I got home at 2:30 am from reinstalling a differential and heavy duty Unitrax 1/2 shafts(with all newly replaced U-joints and u-joint strap kits) The last installer used the old strap kits and no loc-tite. Old strap kits and no Loc-tite lead to the U-joint caps coming off and destroying the axle stubs coming out of the diff. It all had to be replaced redone. We used new strap kits, Loc-tite and also installed the 1/2 shaft loops for good measure. I can get you all the parts you need and do the installation if you would like. My cell # is 630-878-3907. As far as the whole supercharger vs turbocharger debate is concerned, I can hook you up with a cutting edge, intercooled, front mounted twin turbo system where we can start you out at around 600 RWHP and you could eventually make in excess of 1400-1500 HP with the appropriate engine, fuel system and engine management upgrades. There is no other system out there that can do this. After recently installing one, I have to say the Roe blowers look like a million bucks. You open the hood and WHAM! It looks awesome! Our DIY twin turbo will have a similar visual impact to the Roe blower when you open the hood. So there is upgradeability, functionality and bling !!!!!If you have any other questions, please feel free to give me a call anytime. Good luck in your pursuit of safe power AND stopping power! Congrats on your real estate success! |

Brakes, shafts, loops are pretty cheap to upgrade. At least by Viper Tax standards.
I did mine shortly after Heffner installed my SCi. |

I forgot to add that, I don't think HD Halfshafts are needed if you are still planning on running Pilot Sports. Once you decide to run some sticky tires, you would NEED the HD shafts.
I think halfshafts safety Loops are a safe bet for all Vipers. At $200, why risk it. JMO |

wow guys! THANK YOU! All kinds of good information to read and absorb.
<< Big-n-italian, exactly what kind of driving will you be doing? Street only? >> As of right now, yes, street only most probably. I already have a drag car being built. Probably dont need two. At the NASCAR event, someone had a TT setup, and that is what got me thinking. I also saw a blown Roe car the other day here locally, and it too sounded very SWEET. I am one of these guys that would rather pay for the "extras" now, than avoidable repairs and damage later. $200 safety loops sound like great inexpensive insurance. Paolo, what is it going to cost to install your setup when the system is ready? << Roe S/C $7495, polished, gen2 with free install !! >> This looks like a great deal too. |

Can somebody post the link to the $200 safety loops? Are they from Summit racing? Jegs?
