SCAM? Why should they (US) buy a Viper from Germany?

I just scammed a scammer for about a week.

Some moron with a wife that had breast cancer, you know the usual story.... He was selling a Mini Cooper for 4000.

I wasted his time for 7 days asking million questions, always offering cash... He eventually got tired and gave up.

I recently received an email inquiry from a "dealer" offering to sell my car. (The one I'm trying to unload after buying the Viper) It was also from a free Yahoo email account. If they can't afford anything more than a free email account, they are obviously scam artists. Nowadays, I just assume that every inquiry is a scam artist until they show up at my door, and then I use extreme caution.

this seems like a scam to me...when i was looking for my viper i ran into a lot of jokers like this. someone who was a u.s. citizen but lives in italy, germany and france...these people tried to scam me three times, three different countries, not realizing i was the same person each time!

tell them to use escrot.com to send you the money...it is the only escrot service in the u.s.! my guess is they will want to use some other service in the czech republic or something! if they agree (to use escrot.com) have them pay the fee, and one of the escrot.com operaters will let you know when the money is in there. then and only then you'll release the car! if they don't agree, tell them you will only deal in a certified check from a u.s. bank...and when the money is deposited and accounted for then they can come and pick the car up...there are a lot of scams with certified checks...so make sure the check clears before you release the car, if you are going to try this at all!

Doesn't anyone wire money anymore? Heck every time I buy something overseas THEY make me wire them the money. So, do the same. Just tell them to wire you the money and you'll ship the car right out.

I recently had someone wanting to buy a clutch from me. They sent two money orders and then said ooops, I sent too much money. Please send back the difference immediately!! I said no way in H***. I told them the checks (money orders) would have to clear my account first. They then got really pushy about the refund. ("Would you believe that the two money orders were counterfeit) as I suspected. They gave me an address to send the difference too, so I contacted the police in Amsterdam with this information.
