On chat the other night the question came up about securing a modest 550rwhp out of a GenII. The last time I asked this it was decided the best route to go would be using a Roe/Paxton or mild TT. When this was mentioned on the chat a fellow tuner was adamantly opposed to using Belangers on a supercharged car - something about a 5-to-1 setup.
I had rockers and Belangers planned, but now I'm wondering if it would be worth if since I ultimately plan to boost the car in the near future (1-5 years.) |

Hey Bonk,
Belangers are fine, but with F/I you want to remove the "pickle" to allow for more airflow the engine will see. In a N/A engine it does great to improve airflow, but with a S/C application it keeps from getting max flow. One of the tuners did a back to back dyno with the pickle and without, they picked up about 40 RWHP by removing it. |
