I'm sadly going to be leaving California to return to Scotland in October. However, I am thinking of taking my Viper with me. Can anyone recommend a company to transport my car from San Francisco to the UK, preferably in a container for safety? And, if so, what the approximate cost would be? Thanks in advance. |

try Larry from Ultimate Logistics at (954) 322-6662. He'll arrange everything. Approx. RoRo costs incl. insurance 2.5K if I remember correctly. I used him before. He'll quote you for a container as well, but not necessary..

Thanks for the info. Where are Ultimate Logistics based? And where was the Viper shipped from for $2.5k. I'm on the west coast.

Hi, I am new here but i am right in the middle of shipping a 97 gts to the UK i actually live in Scotland! I am using a company called 'Specialised Shipping Services' Which i have used before to import a ram srt-10 they are based in the UK. They are VERY good! The cost is £1,300 in a container. They are also the only people to have put your Viper through the SVLA which will run you another £1,500 or so.their number is (44)1483489655 you should ask for Perter, he is a very nice guy. p.s where in Scotland are you moving to? I live up North west in a small town near Oban. My name is Jonathan by the way

£1500 for an SVA WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did mine myself for about £300 all in done and registered.. Being a 96 you will not need an SVA as it is 10 years old.. I used Mark at Kingstown shipping who have just shipped a viper from the same place as Jonathan's car..... http://www.buyclassiccars.com/offsit...shipping.co.uk Good luck on both your atlantic crossings Baz |

£300 that is cheap! In that case i would like to amend my previous comment ( They are also the only people to have put your Viper through the SVLA) to.... they and Baz are the only people to have put your car through the SVLA.
Thank you Baz mine should be leaving next week |

Thanks for the info - that sounds like an excellent service. Which ports did you get the car shipped to and from for that price? Did it include insurance too? I'm going to be taking the car to Inverness and then possibly Aberdeen. And I've seen your Ram SRT-10! I was in Oban doing some consultancy work while back home visiting from the US and saw it. I thought I was seeing things! Cheers, Hamish |

Tomer:
Car running as good as ever. Still not been on dyno tho! And still might need to get those door pops fitted too. Are you still missing Viper-dom? KWIK96: You can drive a LHD drive car in UK car without trouble from the law. |

Hamish, £1,300 is the car shipped from the east. I spoke to Peter at SSS (Specialised Shipping Services)and asked about shipping from the West, it will only cost an extra £100. There are two ports near California, 1 is in LA and the other i think he said was Oakland?
If you wand to give him a call he will explain every detail to you and answer any questions you may have. His website is www.specialised-shipping.co.uk Hope this helps. Jonathan P.s I cant belive you have been to Oban and saw our Ram SRT-10! Such a small world!! |
