What advice would anyone give as to what mods to my car I should spend $5000 on. It is a '96 RT-10 with the original windows and both tops. Current mods are listed below in my signature. I'm looking for reliable power mainly (with associated strengthening of components that would be necessary as a result of the extra power). I'm not really wanting anything cosmetic so any bodywork etc mods would need to be functional. Also, what shop in the San Francisco/ Sacramento area would be best to carry out such modifications? Any advice welcome. Thanks!

Heads/cam is probably the only thing worth your time for the money you want to spend.

I'd keep saving, and go for a Paxton. Being as you are in California, the Paxton is smog certified here.

Yep, I am with Vic on this one. A couple grand more and you too could have a Paxton blown Viper.

I had been thinking of head and cams and maybe some engine management (VEC2). Rear gears possibly too, although that might take me up over the $5k mark? The Paxton sounds fun but I want to keep the car as reliable as possible since I'm taking it to the UK (hence little in the way of Viper techs). |

If it were me with the $5k, I'd either save up for a Paxton or Roe, or get the best NOS kit money can buy and save the rest.
P.S. And pay someone to tune it right for a couple hundred. |

fully ported heads, matching cam, extrude hone intake + port match, port match your current headers, custom tune it with a long dyno session
then next year spend some cash on brakes(1k-5k$) & cooling system(1k-2k$) & quaife diff with 3.33's(3k$?) there is some nice little things like HID lights(300$?), LoJack(800$?), Laser jamming(400$), Roll bar($?), seat upgrade(1200$?) then when your really craving more power Twin Turbo for 15-20k$ |

I would do the heads and cam.
You will get some good numbers with your setup. |
