180° T-Stat and Emissions Testing
Has anyone in Kalifornia installed a 180° thermostat and had emissions problems? Do the cooler coolant temps make it run richer?
I'm tempted to install one but don't want to fail Smog Check. |

Put cardboard over half the radiator before testing

I had my car smoged by two different independent smog shops and my car failed both times. Then I took my car to the dealer and it passed on the first test ( ?? ). The only thing the dealer mentioned was that they needed to get the motor hot for it to pass smog. My car is stock except S&B air cleaners, Smooth tubes, & Corsica ( ? ) cat back exhaust. Stock Cats.
