I was looking through some of the items on Ebay and saw this.

Intersting concept. I am assumin there is a coil inside the airbox to allow for heat exchange. While it would provide cooler air, I wonder how it does with high rpm cfm flow.

We're both wrong. Service manual says when TPS is at WOT position, PCM turns off AC relay.

In this case, it seems just when you need it, it is turned off.

We need someone with a Thermodynamics degree to calculate the efficiency gain from using power to cool the intake in order to make more power. Is this a net gain or net loss.

I'm guessing that the gains would be minimal if any at all or else you would have seen this more often.

so lets see.

1) you have to use HP to turn the AC motor
2) have a hot AC Condencer in front of your radiator
3) have no AC in the cabin

all for slightly cooler intake temps

this is worth money how????

there is a reason its on ebay
