Yep - NO new Viper, No discussions, No anything. Was I disappointed in the non-introduction .... YES!

Was I disappointed in VOI ....... NO!

Great time, a lot of fun, great people to be around and well worth the 1600 mile drive from Iowa.

OR they have something but just didn't want to show it...

OR they are working on something but nothing is definitive so they didn't want to show something half baked.

There was a magician there last night that made a Corvette disappear, so I was expecting him to make a Viper appear in its place. Everyone in the room had their video cameras, digital cameras and picture phones ready; but no Viper. I sat there for a good 5 minutes after it was all over waiting for someone to call everyone back in and bring the car out.

I thought it was a little crappy to just leave the whole Viper Nation hanging like that. Just a little teaser of what's to come would have been greatly appreciated by everyone, and I think 1,000 people are going to have a long drive home feeling very let down.

They would have been better off on Monday to announce that there would be no talk of future products, and that we're all just there to have fun. That would have gone over better than this c@#ktease.

Of course all of this just as I am deciding on getting into the game. I have my eye on a beautiful 02 and hopefully I may finally make the move. Unfortunately as soon as I do the gold chain, tupperware, door stop is finally on top, crazy.

I'm hoping DCX is getting everyone in a frenzy just to blow them out of the water when the 08 Viper is announced.

I just read in a magazine called "Tuner Exotics", or something like that, that the 2008 Viper will have 650hp.

Coming from that source, you can rest assured its accurate.

The cover story was a Heffner 1200/1200 turbo bumble bee GTS, owned by a MBZ car dealer in Arizona. "Lucas" was his name, I think.

Yea but that is only if you care about stock car comparisons. Get the 02 in a GTS a you will never look back. Their is so much more you can do if you want to mod it.

I am not one that usually mods my cars much since I like having a warranty, although I just found out that the warranty is not tranferrable on the 02 I am looking at, arghhhhhhhhh. I would probably eventually put on smooth tubes and filters, cat back and a 3.55 rear eventually but that is probably it.

How much do you think not being able to get the additional 2 3/4 years warranty affect the desirability and value of this car. I really wanted that safety net especially since he is asking top dollar IMHO. The bad thing is it is a private sale so I can't even get a used car warranty. I have an aftermarket warranty from Continental on my MB and it is not worth the value of the paper it is written on.

i guess i wasnt the only one waiting for 15 mins in the ball room waiting for the new car or some kind of info on the new viper. our table got up and left with out heads down in silence. so disappointed. they got us good didnt they?
