Default Reverse Lights not working....

Just noticed today while backing in the garage. My reverse lights do not work.. After several attemps of going in and out of reverse, I did get them to flicker, so I know its not a buld issue.

Where is the reverse light switch on the trans. and how hard is it to replace. The car is still under factory warranty, but I would rather handle it on my own if possible. Car only has 13k miles, and has never been apart. As always, thanks for any help you can provide.

It's the dark thingy; forward and on the passenger side. Could also be that the plug wire is loose. Not sure if it's under liquid level - be ready to catch it if you unscrew it.

Common problem on Gen II's - mine went out a year ago. Replacement switch is something like $22, and is replaced simply by unscrewing the old switch and screwing the new switch into the tranny.

Now, some people say you can get to the switch without removing the plate under the transmission (something like 20 not-small bolts), but I found it easier to remove the plate, despite the fact some of the bolts are almost rusted on, etc. Thats the only part that adds any time to the job - an air ratchet helps, if you have air tools.
