When one sets up an LC-1 to propery send data to the VEC, did you choose "Lamda" or "A/F" and what "voltage values" did you use for both fields?
O volts = 10 5 Volts = 17? - 18? Thanks. Last edited by DAMN YANKEE; 04-26-2007 at 08:11 AM. |

And the answer is...
Program the AN output of the LC! To read 0V=10 AFR, 5V=18 AFR. Target WOT AFR is about 11.8:1. From Sean. Those of you that are going to use an LC-1 to drive your Vecs will need this... |

Did it a few months ago,but just saw your post.Looks Like I'll be selling the Vec3(genI) with dual LC-1's and Edelbrock headers and going to a different setup!

Can you program the VEC to run at a target AFR using input from a wideband 02 sensor/controller such as the LC1?

No doubt! In 250 increments accross the whole RPM range. While in closed loop the Vec makes heavily modified engines run pretty close to stock, in Open Loop the Vec allows you to control both the fuel and the timing curves precisely.

Plum, both.
Grcforce's comments (astonishing that the asylum gives him this much keyboard time) are in reference to where to send the signals from your LC-1 into your VEC. The terms "master" or "slave" refer to the two large black electrical connectors found on the back of your VEC. The bottom connector is the "master", the top the "Slave" (Roe will scrath a "M" and an "S" on them). Now they must have upped Grc's doses again as one would use "in" pin locations to get the signal from your LC-1 into the VEC not "out" pin locations. The VECs master and slave pins "out" locations send data out to other devices, example Master pin location #6, PWM 1 out, sends a signal to activate a water/meth pump. The two most common pin locations to run LC-1 (s) into a Vec are: Master (bottom) connector, pin location #8 "Analog 2 in" Master (bottom) connector, pin location #10 "Analog 1 in" I run a single wideband (see Illustrated Guides) and use Master pin #8. Works perfectly. Now if by chance Grc is talking about the Analog software set-up in the Innovate "LM Programmer" software (used to setup the LC-1's to properly address the VEC)..well here you are running two independant LC-1's so using your using your laptop to address them individually. One plugs first into the driver side LC-1 using the 2.5mm stereo (female) connector marked "IN" and you can go to the analog output tab and set it up. Unplug your laptop from the driverside connector and now plug i into your second LC-1. Any questions, just PM me. GRc, you keep this up and I'm giving Night Nurse Helga your room key. Just looking at my log it appears I have some sort of voltage reading from AN1 & AN2 is this normal or what is source of that signal if they are supposed to be open or available for LC1 input? Thanks, Kevin

KV, simple way to do this is:
1. Go to page 29 of your VEC diretions. That should be a list of every pin postion on both the Master and the Slave connectors. 2. If there is a signal going in..you will see a value of important on your logs. You had mentioned "AN1 and AN2". If you haven't (or if someone else hasn't) put some leads into those positions, they would normally be empty. Are you seeing a contant value for AN2 at say "6"? |

Gen I's and Gen 2's may be different. The AN 2 in's(master and slave)weren't being used,so I took 2 of the wires with the install kit and set them in the appropiate slots(AN2 master &slave)and then ran one of the LC-1 wires to each, then I could see what both banks were doing.Again Gen2's may be slightly different(or not)!
