Flipped Red w/White Viper on Fox News
About 2 mins ago they just showed a live shot of a flipped Red w/White Stripes Viper (assuming a GTS - couldn't tell from the bottom
 ) that also sheared off a fire hydrant creating what they called his "own personal geyser". Missed the location of the helicopter shot... |

This is a big oops
 Definately Gen II based upon the exhaust. Question is whether it was a FE? It is hard to imagine how you can flip one of these cars over.  Hope everyone is ok!

It was a hard hit right behind the front driver's side wheel. Must have slid into it.
 Could have been a bad hit for a driver. My brother did something similar with his mustang and ended up breaking his femur in five places.

Found this from Google news, has a small pic I assume was from the helicopter footage. Never want to see the underneath of a Viper from above. Good to hear everyone seems OK. Looks like it's momentum was taking the car sideways and hit the hydrant on the passenger door which probably caused it to flip.

Chicago area Viper GTS crash in rush hour tonight!
Well, it looks to me like a red with white stripes GTS. Ouch, this guy hit a hydrant and flipped over....its on Comcast.net news tonight. Complete with fire hydrant show. Hope they were alright. The doors didn't look to be open and there was no rescuers there. Not too good, although maybe it just happenned when the heli got the footage. Be careful folks!

Wild morning today. I own a red Viper with silver stripes. I began getting calls and emails early morning because this happened just down the block from me. Everyone thought it was me for sure. I haven't confirmed that it is any of our club members, doesn't seem to be. We'll keep you posted.
