Default Road racing hill climb

It might be over 10 years old now, but a '97 has still got what it takes to be out front
Just been over to Isle of Man, famous for it's TT motorcycle races, for their road racing hill climb weekend. Drove the Viper over and back, the only bit of damage (other than the gas costs) was to the splitter getting on the ferry from the ramp as the sea was rather choppy. The roads are narrow and bumpy, so not very Viper friendly, or forgiving with walls and banking to one side of the road, and steep mountin drop to the other. But driving the TT course is a blast, with speeds of over 150 mph in places and legal (still no speed limits on some of the public roads). The Viper proved itself very popular just turning up, and as always tons of fun to drive, and collected 6 trophies. The event is very well run, closley governed due to deaths from TT racing. Little vid of the Viper in action, and if any of you know the TT course, see if you reconise the part later here out of Ramsey:

Amazing man!

But I think I will stick to roadcourses with a bit of run off.

Sorry for delay in reply, and thanks for asking.

I fitted one of these to the car :-)

It's running an ATB rear, but still on OE suspension, which likely helped a little on the first climb as it was so bumpy.
At over 100mph, crossing a ridge in the road the car actually jumped a little across the road!

Woo-hoo, what a fantastic vid, where is that, looks like a Euro climb?

Anyway, not quite, I didn't rev as high as that! Didn't poop my panties either, just as well (removed them to save weight and get best seat of the pants feel on the race)

That's fantastic........how about the Pikes Peak "hill" climb to over 14,000 ft! It's total craziness with drop offs at over 4,000 ft straight down!!! Be careful!!!

Nice vid Nadine! Thanks for posting.

This is the hill climb that I've done with the vintage club several times. Note all the hairpin turns (starting around 2:40) and the long straight that opens into the "saddle" area where your doing over 100 mph and come up over the entrance rise with a view of only sky (and no road).

Hill-climbs are GREAT fun, but man if you want to compete, you really have to know the road. Hard to memorize when you get to run it once or twice a year and it's over 5 miles long!

Thanks for the vid City, that's like Gurston here with a slight down hill start! With a single seater, very cool to see exactly where your wheels are and what they are doing, been offered some single seater / open wheel drives, one day must try one. Is that cracks you see in the track, in the first part?
No on board camera, gave up recording, as I never get time to watch the footage!
Pikes Peak is one climb I want to come see at some point, got to be the worlds most awesome climb.

Those were "cracks" that now look much larger as they're patched over with asphalt.
