Pissed OFF Bee sound coming from under the drivers side dash?
My 94 RT/10 just started making a weird noise today. When ever the drivers door is open a load noise which sounds like a pissed off bee comes from under the driver side dash. If I close the door halfway it turns off. When it turns off it makes a clicking noise that sounds like the locking system. But I do not have power locks. Has anyone dealt with something like this? I’d say it is something simple but really have yet to look into it. Figured I would post on here before I start diggin…

Sit in the car and turn the alarm on and off. Is that the clicking?
My '94 had some wires chafe. It rubbed through the insulation inside the door against a support piece, not inside the rubber boot in the hinge.

I sure hope the wires are not starting to fry! I will look more into it this weekend.
My alarm is very weak. This clicking noise is very loud. If I turn my lights on while it is buzzing the buzzing will get weaker. I will look into it this weekend and report back. Might have to take a video of it and let you guys hear what I'm hearing. |

Well I just looked at the car again. The buzzing will start with I open the door. Once I pull the door handle it will start buzzing. So I opened the door and pushed in the locking mechanism(where it locks when it shuts, so it would be open but would be like it was shut) and the buzzing stopped. Very strange. Any ideas? I'll spend more time on it tomorrow.

Some cars have "door open, key in ignition" buzzers. Is this with the key in the ignition by any chance?

You ran over a Honda. Remove dash, remove Honda, reinstall dash

It's on when the key is not in the ignition. So did some Vipers have a "door ajar alarm"? I have never heard this noise before. Maybe may car does have a "door ajar alarm" but the wire was not secure and for some reason it's making a connection now? Again this is only happening with the drivers door.
PS. I could not find the Honda but did find a Nissan GT-R...  |
