Some Viper pics from a car show in England today

First of all, a big thanks for the welcome hospitality of our fellow UK members who showed up today. Neil picked me up from my hotel with his 2000 GTS, that was a highlight missing my RT10 back in Canada, to be in a Viper here in the UK was really nice.

Here's some pics, to and from the hotel, and at the car show in Gaydon. Richard in his yellow GTS w/ black stripes won the the loudest car contest, there's a pic below of the finalists. Great group of guys, glad to have met you'all.

Its a MG SV only around 70 were made, complete carbon fibre body so super light, with a US 4.6 V8 in it. One of our club members has one, i had a trip out in it, it's a handling car !

Thanks for all the pics. Just had to ask.....what do the European exotic car owners think of the Viper? It has to hurt that they can be out performed in most instances by the cheap "Chrysler" product from America! thanks for getting back with type of information!

As a North American I was sure there would be talk of the Viper being dissed, since watching Top Gear, etc.. and their biased opinions on the show.

Each group of cars would enter the ring, and a commentator would describe the group of cars to the audience, speak to the driver, etc. and when the Vipers went in for their turn, the commentator was quite supportive, yelling to the crowd "here comes the Vipers!, the awesome American muscle!". Things that were mentioned to the audience was the reasonable gas mileage, the relatively lower maintenance costs to keep a Viper going, and asking for a Ferrari or Lambo to step up and try and compete with the Viper. "Awesome torque and hp, they're beautiful cars" so I definitely go the impression that the Vipers were a bit hit amongst the crowd, as well as people stopping at the cars taking pictures of them. Richards was also nominated for the best supercar, didn't win, but his yellow GTS was definitely a crowd pleaser, the smoky burnouts. If you think you get attention in the US or Canada driving a Viper on public roads, I got a kick out of how many people stared at the Viper, almost tripping over their own feet. We were at lunch at an outdoor pub, a few young guys were all over Neil's GTS, like it was the best thing they ever saw, one guy correct the other when one asked, does it have an LS7, the other said no.. "it has a V10!"

Awesome pics Neil, Richard smoking the tires has to be one of the best burnout pics I've seen so far. Kudos to Richard to putting on a good show!

Thank you for the pics and coming to this event, sorry I couldn't spend more time with you.

But the Viper is so unpopular in Europe I earned 700 dollars for childrens charity, all my rides described the Viper as the best car for rides, their favourite 'Supercar' busiest car of the day.

The only other car that really caught my eye was the TVR (?). I really like the stance. I've never seen one before.

What is the price tag on one of those? Are they available to North America?

unfortunaltely TVR went bankcrupt about 18 months ago, so only used models available now, they were around the £40K mark new

some cars have made it to the US, as personal imports.
No official TVR direct US sales though
