Default Radiator repair time....

Some of you guys may know I recently bought a '94... Well it's been collecting dust for 6 years and needs all fluids done etc.... So I do the oil and start with the cooling system.

Lesson learned the hard way:
DO NOT TRY TO DRAIN THE RADIATOR BY OPENING THE DRAIN PLUG !!!! Do it by removing the bottom hose .. (should have known) The plug and nipple broke off the bottom and I spent the rest of the morning removing the radiator and repairing the damage!! That's what I get for trying to keep the floor clean!

I tried the same thing and noticed the metal 'twisting" with the plug...
Get Alan's triple pass radiator, since you need to get one....

I probably do need a new radiator but I'm pretty good with a torch so I just brazed the thing back on. The car needs tires and an alignment too.. Wasn't planning on the additional expense..yet!!

I've done a number of repairs on copper refrigeration and water coils. Not much different here and hell, it only has to hold 20psi..piece of cake
