Juan wanted me to leave a message. What's funny is it had a lady's voice on the message, but prompted you to leave a message for Juan.
Larry didn't have one after all and directed me to Scharf. I asked the guys at Scharf's shop for clarification about the pricing discrepancy; when John Barringer ordered his PCM 4 months ago, it was a (more) common part and Chrysler still stocked it. That's why it was $350 for him. The PCM I'm after isn't around any more and was made for a very short amount of time. Hence, the $750 price tag.

Not to cause a panic, but what are we gonna do when Gen 1 parts are all obsolete? What if Schraff didn't have one either? Then what could you do?? Honestly, I'd pay the $750 and get it before someone else does and you're really in trouble. I bought a spare 96 RT/10 PCM (1 year deal--Gen 1 engine, with OBD2 compliance) last year just to have a spare from someone on the Alley. He was asking $250+shipping. I paid $200 shipped.

It's not cheap, but couldn't an AEM or other aftermarket system replace the PCM and ICM? The only thing that would screw you up is passing a state emissions inspection where they plug into the OBD.

Would a standalone replace the factory stuff? I was wondering about that...I was debating on calling tuners (Hennessey, SVS, Underground, Heffner, etc.) to see if they had any PCMs that were taken off cars that went with standalone's, but I didn't know if that's how it worked, or if that many Gen. I's went that route since they're already at a 50HP disadvantage over Gen. IIs.

Well, "real" race cars must use something besides a factory PCM. I thought the turboHondacoffeecan crowd used these a lot:
AEM - Universal Engine Management System* But seriously, I have a '94 and would want to know what I can do if the same happens, so I hope this keeps a discussion going.
