Exclamation Need A Gen. I Pcm

My car was running rough so I took it into A.R.T. for what I thought would be just a few VEC adjustments. After discovering a few injectors weren't firing consistently, they attributed the problem to a cracked motherboard in my PCM. That said, I need a new PCM pronto.

Both A.R.T. and I have been calling around today trying to hunt one down. We had one lined up in California for $300, but the deal fell through. The only other one that I've run across is $750 and I'd rather pay a little less than that. The part numbers that will work are:

4709024
4709132
4709237

If anyone has one they'd be willing to let go of, please PM me. Thanks in advance!

You have two modules:
92-93 Powertrain control module #4709024 [no longer available from Chrysler!]
92-95 Ignition control module #4706229 [no longer available from Chrysler!]

You'll need to try Paul Scarf for a used one: 800-338-4002

I had a problem with my Battery Light Coming on, and called Paul to get a used PCM, they got me one for aroung $350 with shipping. Fixed my problem, and service was great.

Another problem fixed by the Viper Wizard!!!

Scharf's shop is the one that quoted me at $750 and they're not budging on price. I've seen some around for $300-400, but now that I need one those are nowhere to be found.

If I have to I guess I'll pay that, but I'd rather not...especially seeing as how they charged John $350 a while back and now it's more than double the price? John, when did you get yours from them?

I got mine in Middle of April of 2008. Did you talk to Paul? I am pretty sure that is the person I talk to.

Does anyone know where to get a PCM rebuilt? I have one with a bad Voltage Regulator, like to have a spare!

As for the rebuild, David Weaver down here at A.R.T. has been talking to a guy that will LOOK at my PCM for $139...that doesn't include the cost of any repairs.

I've been speaking to Mike Hoffman at Scharf's, and he said the "boss man says firm price on the PCM...they are few and far between these days." I imagine the "boss man" he speaks of is Paul; I can't believe that the price of those has gone up 214% in 4 months. Wow. Talk about Viper Tax...

I'll have to check with the guys at A.R.T. to see who all they've called. As of today they hadn't had any responses...or at least any positive responses. As Tator said, they're no longer available through Chrysler. I'll ask Weaver tomorrow if he's tried Jon B.

Still waiting to hear back from X2 and a few others. Thanks for the recommendation!

Can you PM me the info for A.R.T? I would like to call him about my PCM rebuild.

Thanks

I have an extra PCM from my 95 that I would be willing to let go for $350. Not sure if a 95 will work on a early 93. I could ship it out tomorrow if you are interested.

I bought a new one from Paul Scharf a few years back when I was getting some strange idling issues and it turned out to be the TPS.

I got clarification from A.R.T. this morning, and it's the powertrain control module, not the ignition one that piggybacks off of it. As Chuck stated above, the only interchangeable years for that particular part is 1992 and 1993. If it was the ignition module, the 1995 would be work and I'd be all over it.

I still need to put in a call to Jon B and X2...if I can't hunt one down after that, I'll have to bite the bullet and spend the $750+ for the one from Scharf.

Try ViperPartsLarry.com. He has a GenI PCM listed on his website. He does a great of tracking these parts down for you if he doesn't have them in stock. 917-570-1915.

Thanks, Tony!

I just left a message for Larry.

The 7 and 1 were juxtaposed in your response, so I woke up Juan the first time, but the second time I got through to Mr. Larry. Sorry, Juan! Ha.
