Default Bumper clips/gap question

Ok, let's see if I can explain this without taking pics...

Noticed a couple weeks ago that the clips under the headlights (that hold the bumper cover to the bumper) were gone (1 per side). I look at it this morning to see what size clips I need to buy and notice to get the tabs on the bumper cover to line up with the hole in the bumper (so I can insert clips), I'd have to pull the bumper cover towards me (the tabs have slid PAST the holes in the bumper), thus making the gap between the bumper cover and the headlight really big. All the clips along the center of the bumper are in place. So, I guess I'll just leave the clips under the headlights out, but it doesnt make sense that installing the clips would've required making a bigger gap I still have a gap b/t the bumper cover and headlights, so if the bumper flexes, it won't get shoved up into the hood or headlights, but if I installed the clips, it'd be a huge gap Is something out of adjustment?

The gaps between the bumper, hood, headlights and fender are infinitely adjustable but are a pain to do. If the gaps are fine now, I'd ignore the missing clips and the hassle of alignment. Believe me, that gap will be annoy you forever if it's not fixed.

Thats what I figured, thanks. "If it isn't broke, don't fix it" or "if it is broke, and looks better broke, leave it alone"

On my '01 I have out of I believe 7 possible, just one fastener on the top of the bumper cover. It's in the center. Just have never gotten around to re-shimming etc all of that after numerous removals of the fascia for this and that.

Under those conditions it...

-> Does not move around whatsoever.

-> Gaps are correct.

-> Has not flown off when speeding at say 71 mph. When they drop it to 55 again I will speed at 56 mph. But for now, it's been tested at 71.
