The "four blade rear diffuser" found here:
PartsRack.com Picture on the site is not telling me how this thing fits. I am especially interested in what it does around the exhaust hole and how it fits in the inset detail. |

*bump*
I'm interested in seeing pics too. I can only find these on the site: Anyone have an Autoform diffuser or GTS wing lying around? The one and only thing I really hate about my car

To be honest I think..... think that is..... that model sticks out a bit too far in the back. At least for my liking. I went with the individual blades. I will not disclose publicly where from so as to not take any business away from JohnB.

LOL I was thinking it didn't stick out far enough. If you look at the Oreca Vipers it stuck out about 8 inches further.

Yes, and I know those are purpose driven for the race cars. Since there is not much real racing done by members on this forum I was just assuming that he wanted it for either the look or a minimal purpose such as I did.
If I am wrong then I am wrong. ![]()

Having done a bit of race car aero research before I built my diffuser, it was made clear in the technical text that the most function came by having the flat plane be the most rearward projection on the car. That is why mine, as well as the SRT diffuser, is not at full function (my design does not stick out either).

and there you have it...
So for the original poster, you must decide what you objective is: Look or Function? ![]()

If the purpose of the rear diffuser is to reduce drag - turbulence - on the back of the car, I'd say my diffuser lite is effective, but probably not as much so as the larger units. And I was joking about the drink cups. Just lawn clippings. ![]()

I can vouch for the drinking cups. I ran over one and as I looked in the rearview to make sure it passed through the rear wing shot the cup straight up in the air. It was my first real-world visual of the tremdous effects of aerodynamics. I've since removed the upper wing.

I have this unit fitted to my car, as you would expect to hear, I really like it
![]() To fit the rear diffuser it slips over the rear lower bumper which sort of hooks the end in place then it is held in place by 10 Bolts (6 along the front edge and 4 either side between the 2 center fins, they align up with the chassis rails). You can put the diffuser on and off the car easily and there is no cutting involved Hope that helps, If you want any more info let me know ![]() Here's a rough diagram showing bolt holes ![]() Mark ![]() |

I think what he would like is some close up pics of where it hooks the rear bumper cover and where the pipes come through.
Am I going to have to fax you my camera to get that done? ![]()

Did it come painted black? It the hole for the exhaust the same size as the stock hole? One of the reasons I was thinking about this (beside being bored with the car in general) is that the previous owner had a crap exhaust on the car that slightly burned the edge of the square hole the exhaust comes out of and if this has the same size hole it would hide that burn mark on the body. |

OK Here we go, so down to the garage this morning, had to turn car around then get down into my pit to take the following pics ![]() LOOKING UP AT CENTRE OF DEFUSER Note to self...Clean Bolts, heads looking a bit rusty ![]() CLOSE UP SHOT OF EXHAUST OPENING (Bellenger rear Exhausts) PIC SHOWING HOW UPPER SECTION 'HOOKS' OVER REAR BUMPER. (No screws or bolts, it just slips over) PIC SHOWING FRONT EDGE BOLTS,...Oh and a good lookin Harley in the background ![]() CLOSE UP OF NOISE DEPT...... PIC SHOWING REAR EXHAUST EXIT, Note you can see the rear bumper underneath (red) FINAL PIC SHOWING BOLT HOLES, Note these are the same holes already drilled in the existing bumper, and the same factory bolts. As far as the colour goes it is not sprayed black, I think its a fibreglass unit with a black finish. You can take it off the car really easily if you get fed up with it and there is no damage to your original bumper ![]() Right then, I better attempt to do some work now ![]() Mark ![]() |

I could start a seriously deep catalog of stuff that fits that ticket - crappy pics etc. You really can't blame any one individual - I'm sure they have plenty of other business to take care of.
But the ones that take note: -> Children can take hi-res pictures. Why can't you? -> I will walk from a vendor that I can't see the product well on the web. That equals lost sale. Peer-eee-uddd!!! You want to sell your product on the web then have details and good pics. You otherwise make my waste my time asking questions or asking for better pics. Or in my case, I just build my own for 5% of the commercial cost ![]()
