Default I'm back with a 2001 Yellow RT/10

I took the plunge and bought a 2001 RT/10 yesterday. It is totally stock head to toe (bone stock is just my preference). It is race yellow with 11,200 miles. I will post pictures as soon as I can take some when this weather breaks this week.

Strange thing when I drove it home... (and when I test drove it for that matter). The thing bounced like I had balloons as tires (well maybe not that bad, but it was bouncy). I bought it anyway figuring maybe struts, or something I could fix. Anyway, when I got home the tires had just over 40 psi. I put them down to 29 psi but I have not driven it yet. Also, it still has the original tires and it sat for about a year. Too bad the tires are old as they have about 2/3 tread left, but old tires are dangerous and I bet they have flat spots from sitting. Maybe that is why they had them pumped so high to try to avoid flat spots????

Anyway, it is like new inside and (with the exception of the lower part of the front facia) it is like new on the outside too.

Do you think the over inflation is the main cause of the bouncy ride? My other Vipers may have rode harsh, but never bouncy.

I'm also pumped as it has power mirrors! I'll post pics as soon as I can. Later folks.

I have a 2001 RT/10 and it doesn't "bounce" all over. It was probably the tires. I replaced my tires after the first time I almost "lost" the car shifting hard into 2nd. Bought new PS2's and the car rides great. Congratulations on the new ride.

I will check. I would doubt it since everything else on the car appears stock, but you never know... Some people add the strangest things. Aldans are not good from what I know of them. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll probably drive it tomorrow and I will see if lowering the pressure 27.5% from 40psi to 29psi did the trick.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. Good to be back in the saddle.

My '01 GTS bounced with the 4 yrs + OEM Pilots on them...especially at 80 mph...so I think your assessment will prove out to be correct.
