Subject: Motec ADL2 Dash Manager 4.42 Software

It has come to the attention of Dodge Motorsports that the latest Motec Dash Manager software for the ADL2, version 4.42, is not compatible with the Viper Competition Coupe engine management system. Installing the new software, available from the Motec website under current release software, will lead to a condition where the Motec display flashes error messages whenever the vehicle “IGNITION” switch is turned on. Customer cars are delivered with Motec ADL2 Dash Manager 4.20 installed in the Motec and it is Dodge Motorsports’ strong recommendation that teams continue to use this version of the Dash Manager software in their vehicles and on their computers. For teams that need the 4.20 version of the software, it can be obtained from the following link:

Scroll down to the ADL2 Dash Manager section and select “Version 420S2” software for download.

Motec and Dodge Motorsports have identified the problem in a communications template in the version 4.42 software. While this problem has been fixed, the updated software will not be available to the general public via the website. It is unlikely any fix will be readily available until the next release of Motec software. If any team wishes to use the version 4.42 software, a replacement template file is available directly from Dodge Motorsports.
