I do not own a Viper yet but have wanted one since I saw them debut in the 90's and now have the means to do so. I have been looking at Gen II and Gen III's (they fit in my wallet range) and have narrowed it down to a couple of models and I have several questions if someone wouldn't mind answering them.

Models:
2001 RT-10 Hard Top - Sapphire Blue (I believe this was the only year for this color)
2005 - 2006? Copperhead Edition (I believe this is a soft top convertible only - if this is the case at 6' 2" would I fit in one without my head poking through the convertible top?

  • Is 2001 the only year Sapphire Blue was made ?
  • What do I need to look for and at (engine etc.) when looking for one?
  • Are there any inherent issues with the models above that I should be aware of ?
  • One of the biggest problems I am facing is going to look at the car in person as most of them are 1,000 miles away or more, how can I make sure the car is good without going in person and buy out of state from a private seller or dealership and get the car to me is there a process for this?

4 have their local dodge dealer do a pre purchase inspection (PPI) usually only costs about $200, if you agree to pay for it and this still have a problem with that, walk away.

also check out www.theviperregistry.com for lots of good info

i have a gts so i cant comment about the convertibles, gen2's have seat lowering kits.

this car is near me https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for...archRadius=0&makeCode1=DODGE&modelCode1=VIPER
