Default I am soooo MAD! (kind of long)

Ok, are you ready? Driving the Viper today (beautiful day in N.Y.). On a four lane road, two in each direction. I'm in the left lane minding my own business, waiting to turn left. Behind me is a school mini-bus. No traffic in the right lane next to me, unclear why this jerk is waiting behind me anyway, when he could have easily went around me. He proceeds to blow his horn (I suppose he thought I had an opportunity to turn and I didn't). You and I know if I thought I could have turned I would have (as we know the car has no problem getting out of it's own way!). So when I can turn, I begin to. At the same time the SOB in the mini-bus has started to go around me. He then proceeds to SPIT on my car! As I'm turning watching this piece of s..ts slime run down my windshield, I can't believe my eyes. My first reaction was , that's it, I'm going after the

SOB. But my better judgment decided not to. Thinking to

myself, he's is someone elses school bus and I'm in my car and it certainly wouldn't be worth having a run in with him or maybe he is some head case with a gun or something. The fact of the matter is, I just couldn't believe it. Whats with people? Last week I caught some 14 year old boy red-handed stealing my chrome tire valve caps off the car. I guess never taught not to take things that don't belong to you. All I know is before I was financially successful, and I saw someone with a beautiful automobile or something very fine. I would be sincerely happy for them and wish them the best with whatever it was. They more than likely worked hard for whatever it was, and deserve it. Maybe, at the same time hoping someday I would be in the same
position, but never jealous or vindictive. I'm sure many of you have had similiar experiences, people who are genuinely happy for you and others who are not sincere. Well I feel better having "vented" my frustration! Needless to say after I got in from work, the snake got a much needed bath!

You made a wise choice by not going after him. Just last week a guy did about the same thing to another person and the other person followed him home and shot him. The guy's injury's were not life threated but could have been very easily. Needless to say they haven't found the shooter yet. I just don't understand why people are so mad. It just pisses me off.

Good judgement is the better part of valor!! However, I would be been very upset and would have a least followed the driver to get a plate number (could easily find out who the driver was by reporting this to the school). Anyway, spit washes off. Bullets are another story. Enjoy your car, always.

I agree. You did the right thing but I would have gotten the tag number, recorded the time of day and had his *** in a sling. I am glad you don't have my temper.

I had a similar experience last year so I share your frustration. I was going by a school and stopped behind a school bus. The driver was stopped with his flashers on but no kids were around yet, they were on the school ground quite far away. I would never risk hitting someone so I just patiently sat behind him. Then the driver leans out his windows waves at me and yells to go around him. I think about it but am uneasy, he leans out again and says it's OK, no one around, pull around. So I very slowly start to pull around him.

All of a sudden this psychotic crossing guard comes flying out from the school ground screaming profanities at me and saying things like "You think because you own a @#$%# expensive car you don't have to wait! You @#$%#$!". She actually ends up picking up what I think was a stick and throwing it at the car. I'm in a state of shock at this womans tirade and as I pull around the bus I think "To hell with it, normally I would just drive away but this time is too much." I pulled my car directly into the middle of the road blocking all traffic, got out, walked up to her and said I have two requests, "One, stop cursing around the young kids that can hear you clearly on the school ground and secondly what is your name?" I drove straight home, called the school and she was let go. I'm sure she is out there somewhere stalking me but at least I felt like a little justice was done.

It was painfully obvious that she just had a chip on her shoulder against people that had been more financially successful than her. Rather than work harder she felt it was simpler to try to bring everyone else down.

In fact, I grew up in a relatively low income family. I, like you, always admired fine cars and never thought of being like that. But you quickly find out who your friends are if you do have any success in life. Of all the friends I had before, I can only say that two were happy for me when I sold a company that I had started for a fair amount of money. The rest were just bitter. It's a sad statement on the human race isn't it?

Im with speed shifter, I would have followed him and beat him down. I cant stand people like that. There are a lot of jealous people with out any kind of goals and a drive to be successful. They want everything handed to them and hate people who have nice things etc.. Hope you are better now.

Let it slide- you are living a life that these people can only dream about. Smile, wave nicely and be on your way. While this guy may be top dog in his trailer park, he is nothing elsewhere, and he feels pain as his peepee shrivels up at the sight of a woman driving such a fine automobile.

The worst lecture I ever got was from a Road Ancient who had been sleeping (what else do you call 37 in a 55?) on a windy mountain road. I blew past him and went on my way. Later, he accosted me at a picnic area and proceeded to read me the riot act. Many people gathered around my car and began to trash this clown, as they had also been stuck behind him.

I agree with shifter and Albert, I think I would've kicked the guys *** back to grammar school. Friggin' jerkoffs out there... Kill as many as you can without getting caught!

Laura, it made me mad too, just reading about it! I totally agree with you. If I see anyone with something nice (as long as they haven't stolen it!) I am happy for them. I can't understand jealously. Life is to some extent what you make it; I started out with nothing finantialy, but hard work and determination have now made me a smitten Viper owner. I also caught someone stealing the chrome valve caps off my wheels a few days ago, he was just a kid. I grabbed him by his jacket, took the two caps back off him that he had in his hand, and told him to learn to buying his own things and not to take other peoples. He was unconcerned about being caught and started giving me a load of verbal! I told him to run and hide, as he was lucky I'd not given him a hiding, but he just dawdled away laughing at me! I get a lot of jealously because I'm a young lady driving a Viper, also people look at the Viper and see pound-signs, they put me down and ask "how can you aford it", or have you won the lottery, is it your Dads / boyfriends etc! It's a case of trying not to take the gealously personally, or let it upset you, I would find it very difficult to 'forget' about any one spitting on my beloved Viper though. Impressive self-control on your part. But, anyone as low as that ain't worth bothering with, I wouldn't stoop to their level. Sometimes if you don't respond in the way they'd expect you to it can be very effective! I had someone shouting at me about having such a big beast of a car, I'm sure he was just trying to get me to bite back, so I smiled at him and gave him the thumbs up, he was most confused! I hope it never happens again; are you sure he spat though, and was just so excited at seeing your Viper that it came from his trousers?!

Oh Nadine, you are too funny. I hadn't thought that, and quite honestly don't even want to! I've unfortunately have had that done for the "pleasure" of my viewing by a guy in a car next to me when I was driving my truck, But you know what, at least he kept the mess in his own vehicle! I'm still disgusted about it today. I'm actually more disturbed at the thought of this type of individual transporting around someone's child on his bus. If he would do something like he did to me, God only knows what he would do to a child that pissed him off. I was in such shock that I didn't look at the plate or even the bus company name. I didn't even want to chase after him because I don't know if I honestly would have been able to control my "hot head". If it were 10 years ago, when I was in my 20's, I definetely would have chased the @#$%$# down and gotten out of my vehicle, business suit, stockings, heels and all, and given him a piece of my mind. But I guess I've mellowed a little. I figure the next time I see him, maybe I'll ask him if he would like to
urinate on my tires, being the pig that he is. I just wonder
why people get so angry, he doesn't know me, or anything about
me. But I guess he already had me figured as some
particular "type" of person. Well today was a new day, and
uneventful as far as anyone's bodily fluids ending up on my
car! Maybe I should have swabbed his saliva stains and sent it
out for genetic testing. I'm sure the SOB probally has some
kind of criminal record to boot! Well have a wonderful weekend!

Laura -

You definitely have encountered something worse than I have had to deal with. I hope this makes you feel a little better (you aren't alone):

I picked up my pride and joy at the factory (CAAP) and enjoyed two days of absolutely wonderful driving to bring it home. Hit a little rain (wow, those windshield wipers are NUTS!) and even a flake or two of snow (mid-November). Encountered more "thumbs up" than I would have imagined. So, I have 932 miles on the odometer when I finally pull within ¾'s of a mile of my home. I turn on to the main road to my neighborhood (four lane, 45 mph limit) and get this absolute CLOWN in a jacked up Suburban on my tail. As we are going 45 mph in packed traffic, he is literally within two feet of my bumper, revving it up and jacking with the brakes at the same time. If you have seen National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, think back to where the hillbillies are tailing our friend Clark Griswold in their pickup. Same deal. He does this for five blocks until we turned. My wife was frantically pulling beside him in our own SUV (we drove up to CAAP with the family and caravaned home) and waving at him to stop it. He flipped her off, along with my shocked twelve year old son. The car hadn't even been home yet and this maniac was trying to scare the crap out of me (successfully, I might add).

Now, the weird thing is that five months later we see this SAME idiot doing it to another car! This time he was harassing some grandpa driving his elderly wife (at the posted speed limit) in an older Cadillac, and it is the exact same custom Suburban doing it. We tried to follow (we were in a different car altogether) and he ran a red light and was gone. We got his plates and couldn't think of what we could do since he didn't damage anybody that we saw. Two months later, same guy, same truck. We follow from a distance and this time we didn't hit any red lights. I know where he lives now...

See, even in the gentle Midwest we get some serious jerks. Just to make things a little brighter, watch your mail on Monday or Tuesday. Spit not included.
