I got the new Limp Bizkit cd too, but apart from a couple songs I wasn't impressed. You like heavy stuff that grooves eh? Try The Union Underground. Their cd An Education In Rebellion is pretty good. Check it out at:
http://album.yahoo.com/shop?d=ha&id=1801764058&cf=10 With song titles like 'South Texas Deathride' and 'Turn Me On Mr. Deadman' how could you go wrong?? ![]() Another good cd is Make Yourself by Incubus. They aren't as heavy but the songwriting is a notch or two above most 'alternative' stuff you hear these days. Check this one out at: http://album.yahoo.com/shop?d=ha&id=1801230507&cf=10 |

I like all the heavy stuff also, but havent found anything I like lately except The Union Underground. If you are in a mellow mood, check out Lifehouse. Stupid name, but a real good CD

I'm with McGrath on this, I just went to Napster, downloaded my favorite 80's Hard Rock tunes and pressed a couple of my "custom" CD's.
As far as newer stuff goes, the only thing I have liked lately for driving is "Eve 6", a good song for an upbeat drive is "Promise". Overall the best driving tunes bar-none in my opinion are from instrumental hard rock guitarist. You don't have to think about the vocals, you just drive to the groove... Try stuff like: Joe Satriani - Surfin' with the Alien, Summer Song, etc. Eric Johnson - Cliffs of Dover Steve Vai - His own stuff or with David Lee Roth (Just like Paradice) Vinnie Moore - Odyssey |

S L I P K N O T !!!!!! if you can't handle that switch to Rob Zombie he even does good techno stuff. I haven't heard of the other band listed but I will check it out. BTW there are about 3 different versions of the Slipknot CD get the one that has 20 tracks on it...play number 20 (please for the love of the viper be on an open road). It's Surfacing...live, I'm getting emotional just thinking about it.

Give Rob Zombie's "Dragula, hot rod hermin remix" a try. Talk about getting yourself FIRED UP! Of course in any hard driving cd compilation, Metallica is mandatory! If you have never seen the video to "Fuel" at least listen to the song! Car chases, races, crashes....oh ya!

I agree with the Hot Rod remix, it's one of the best. It'll get you a ticket though.

Not new, but Prodigy has some KILLER "hard core" drivin' music.
I also have a soft spot for the new "Stupified" song by Disturbed - VERY good driving tune. Also check out some of Marilyn Manson's stuff - not bad depending on the mood you're in. For more relaxing stuff, I really REALLY like the Chili Peppers new album - especially "other side" |

Thanks viper00rt, you made me think of another great cd. It is the soundtrack from "Last Action Hero". My two favorites off that cd are AC/DC "Big Gun", and Megadeth "Angry Again". Both very high powered tunes!

While I am not a fan or supporter of "street racing", I am a fan of listing to great road music on a track. The two tunes that get the blood going for me are not Metal Rock, but have all the bang you need to push the pedal a little harder.
The first song is by an 80's band called Shooting Star. The song is called Hang On For Your Life. It is the first song on the album with the same name. In the song it mentions "400 Horsepower, shoving car into gear, and showing you what I got." The second song that comes to mind is by a Mid-West band called the BoDeans. On their third album Home, song # 4, Good Work. Great beat, and great words. |

Hard to beat "Ted Nugent - Ted Nugent" Stranglehold, Stormtroopin', Just What the Doctor Ordered, etc.
UFO's live album is also one that puts your back window in serious jeopardy of blowing out from high sound pressure levels. Make sure those air extractor ducts in the rear quarters are clear, boys and girls! |

Though I am an old fart on the other side of 30, whether we ( my son and I ) are listening to Korn, Rage against the Machine, Metallica, Limp Biskit, ZZ Top, Steppenwolf, etc., PRODIGY IS THE TAPE WE CRANK UP RIGHT BEFORE WE ENTER THE TRACK AT VIPER DAYS!!! This is great driving music and even those that don't like it at first, admit that it grows on you!! |
