Just got the coolest christmas gift EVER!! My wife is taking me to the Viper/Prowler plant on Jan 2. We live in SC and are looking for some advice on things to do other than the plant tour. We would like to leave on the 29th and stay somewhere for new years then go on into Detroit up. I know we have some cool viper guys up that way. What I'm looking for is somethings to do up that way (up to 200 miles of the plant is ok) for sightseeing and something great to do for new years. Everything we read says DO NOT STAY IN DETROIT!! So any help would be great.
Thanks in advance, Scott Patrick |

Scott, I've stayed twice at the Holiday Inn Express in Warren, neat the corner of 626 and Hoover. Not too bad in that neighborhood and not very far from CAAP. Another good place where a lot of people stay is the Mariott..... I think it's in the Dearborn city limits. That's a little farther.... about 25-30 minutes I've heard. Pay a visit to some of the other DC company sights..... the museum, the engine plant, etc. Make sure to cruise Woodward, as well. Have fun..... bring PLENTY of money for the CAAP store. Sylvia is one heck of a "shopkeeper"

Scott, the Ontario Viper Club stayed at the Troy Marriott Hotel,
200 W. Big Beaver Road, Troy, MI 48084, Ph: 248-680-9797. It is central to Auburn Hills for the Chrysler Museum and Meadowbrooke Hall (Dodge Estate)to the north and CAAP to the south. The hotel is quite nice, good dining room etc. and close to high end shopping if you are so inclined. The CAAP tour is very interesting and their in plant store has a large selection of Viper merchandise. Have fun! |
