I was at Office Depot today and saw it and bought it (well technically it was an early Christmas present from my wife). Interesting game, although I like to think I race better in real than in the game. Curious though, looking through the list of 'upgrades' you can do to the game car, some of them seem pretty real. Are they all real? For instance, one of the upgrades was injectors, higher spray, supposed to increase up to 40 HP. Sounds like it would be especially good for those of us with Nitrous and need the extra liquid. Is that a real upgrade? I'm not much of a computer gamer but thought this was pretty cool. Anyone else played this game?

The game can be kind of addicting. If you get a Steering wheel for it, get the most expensive one you can get with force feedback. (I used the Logitech WingMan Formula™ Force GP)

I've had this game for a long time but it will not run on my windows 2000 computer. I get this message that says it cannot run under winNT. I don't get it. Kinda pisses me off.

LOL Norman, sorry to hear that. Yeah, I do in fact have this game and have gotten all the way through it; it is addicting. viper-GTS/R, what do you mean you have gotten the 2003? Am I missing something? Anyway, it's a lot of fun, and about the injectors, it does seem logical that larger injectors=more fuel=more power, but I am not certain.
Regards, Clint |

I've never seen this game, how does it compare to Gran Turismo 3 for the PS2?
With GT3 you can own/drive the #91 Oreca GTS-R and you can buy and build a stock GTS if you want. |

Thanks for the link to the Win2000 patch. I havn't been able to use this game since I got my P4 for development. Got tired of rebooting so often so I switched to Win2000, mucho dev friendly. That site was quite a wealth of other goodies as well...

Just installed Windows XP on my computer, can't play this game anymore. I tried to go to the links in this thread (I searched for this thread, aren't you all proud
) but that site is no longer there. Anyone know where I can get a patch to make this game run under XP? Thanks. |

I bought the game but I haven't been able to play it because I have XP. I would also like to know if there is a way to play it without Windows 95 or 98.

That's the patch being used for XP and win 2000. fixes the sound issues, etc. It's on a Geocities site, so you have to COPY AND PASTE that link into your browser. just clicking on the link won't work. follow the directions in the read me file. good luck. Maybe Tony will save the patch for the VCA site so we have it when the above link goes away?? Tony?
quote:
Originally posted by viper I bought the game but I haven't been able to play it because I have XP.
