2 dumb questions re: lux tax.
Do I pay it only on new cars? If I buy a new model year 2001 in 2002, do I pay 2001 lux tax or 2002? Thx. |

You pay based on the year you bought it. 2000 or 2001 purchased in 2002, you will pay the lux tax rate for 2002. Lux tax goes away in 2003.

Well,
If you pay gas guzzler or luxury tax on used vehicles, I guess I owe the fed some $$$. It's only on new cars. P.S. - Didn't I hear somewhere that the luxury tax is going away? |
