Default Re: stories........

Okay above is a satellite photo of my old school. The 45d angle is Route Nine (the main travel road of tourists going from the beaches home to MD) and the level line (you can see the bright white sidewalk next to it) intersecting it is one exit of the School parking lot. Inside that little triangle is the irrigation pond for the building. There is a car (little black dot) on RT9 and all this come into play in my story.

-----------

There was one student in my class who had saved silently for his dream car: a 86ish C4 Vette. It was bright gold with almost no clear coat left and in generally poor condition, but it was his and he had worked very hard to get it. 99% of the kids at school respected his discipline in achieving this goal. It was the other 1% that made him a legend.

Day before Graduation this punk egotistical ******-****** *****-****-******** **** ***** (and that's how we all thought of him) came in with his grandma's brand new Vette GS (The blue one with the big white strip down the center) and started talking down on the other kids crappy 86ish. Well we all took up sides and defended the kid because, well lets face it, at least he OWNED his vette. Well that wasn't enough so it eventually turned into a "mine's bigger than yours" contest. (typical vette owner fight.)

The Owner hoped into his car, pulled out of the lot and took off towards the popular testosterone shooting range for a little head-to-head asphalt combat. Upon entering RT9 he did a wonderfully graphic burnout and disappeared into the distance. The crowd went wild.

(this is where the photo comes into play)

Well. Not to be outdone, Mr. Ego hoped into the GS and pulled out the other exit (white lines meets RT9 in photo.) His desire to produce a bigger, better burnout he dumped the clutch while waiting to turn onto RT9. The result wowed everyone as both tires began an uncontrollable burnout. Thinking he was good to go he let up off the brake and the car went absolutely wild. It ended up doing three full donuts (in a perfect line I might add) down the center of RT. In the most freakishly thing I've ever seen both tires bit and launched the Vette back towards the building...perpendicularly to the road. The car had made it from the intersection all the way to where the car in the pic is (at least 200ft) without hitting anything.

The car slingshot into the roadside ditch and bent the frame into a pretzel. It hit the cyclone fence which, after shoving a post through part of the engine and hood, scratched every single panel on the car and broke all the windows. Finally what was left of the car landed head first in the pond. The crowd went wild...with laughter.

No one was hurt. The car was irreparable. The insurance refused to cover because of a supposed surveillance video and the best part: The grandmother wasn't even upset!!!! She was just glad no one got hurt.

Oh, Mr. Ego is still alive and well (though it would be decidedly different if he were my boy) and still badly losing street races.
