You can see the reflection in the boat's window.

I don't think you would see the shadow of the car from the angle the sun is at. The sun seems to be off the bow of the ship slightly to it's left. So, the shadow of the car on the water is going to be back almost at the dock. It wouldn't be a super hard shadow either, as the cloudy day would create nice fill light, diffusing the shadow a bit.

But you'd have to admit that with proper "treatment" (NOS, 2 tier wing, front spoiler, neon lighting, etc.) this Honda would have made it right onto the topdeck...no damage!

wouldn't a 2500 pound car put a little pressure on the mid-ship dock line????
guess the front and rear, oops, aft, lines could be taunt though.........but that's the first thing I thought! |

Wow! Oh man...wow.
The only thing that would have made this picture MORE amazing is if it were a viper. Photoshop, anyone? |

The original of this was not photoshop for all the reasons Jon mentions, also pic. has been in 2 different boating publications, with an explanation. one publication is devoted to consumer/insurance/how to avoid. As to the docking lines, the weight of the car is more than enough to hold the boat where it is and take off the strain in the dock lines. Think about it, , you could hold the boat there with your hand. The boat can't possibly move away from the dock as long as the car is there. Basic physics. If faces have been changed etc. with photoshop I can't comment, I don't remember the faces, just the boat and car.

i love how people automatically assume an unusal picture on the internet is "photoshopped".. did the invention of photoshop stop unusual kodak moments from existing?
and the person calling out the photo usually does so very authoritively.. just an observation! - eddie - |

If its a hoax I think its a pretty good one. I especially like the boat frame being bent inwards where the car "impacted" and the proper colour water from where the passenger door is open. If it is a fake the artist deserves recognition.
