Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
I have been going there since a kid. It is my holly ground. I remember my first time... I was around 12 or 13 years old. walking up to the track and seeing how big it was...its was time trial weekend..pole day for the Indy 500...As we were walking to find a seat...one car...on the track in open practice...screamed by at full speed and filled my ears with a sound I have never heard before in real life....I still remember the feeling...a big smile and a rush of emotion. I never wanted to leave that place. When I was involved with motorsports I the early 90's I was able to get into the pits and garages and talk with many of the crew members and drivers. I had the same feeling too in 2000 when I saw F1 there for the first time. I fell in love with the Viper there too when it was the pace car. I think I took 2 rolls of film of the pace cars up close and on the track. I have other favorites but Indy is the best. a great shot...the 1996 Indy 500 with our Viper up front! Road America, hands down! This track is challenging and yet beautiful. And from a fat person's point of view, the best **** food at any track in the world!!!!

Road America gets the nod but only slightly over Virginia International.
Sebring is flat, bumpy and hot…but it’s still Sebring. ![]() I’m no track snob. I like ‘em all. If I ever get out West for a Viper Days, which track would be the best? |
