I used to work at a couple different banks doing software implimitations and such. Worked the corporate deal for many moons. Then I got fed up with stuff and finally broke out and opened my own company. Oh my god. What a huge difference. i bought my life back. There is no going back for me. Im one happy camper. ![]() Good luck buddy. Matt |

I got fired from my first job out of college due to "network violations". Basically I installed ICQ on my work computer because my (then) girlfriend (now my wife) wanted to chat with me while I was at work. Spammers sent a virus to my computer and it got spread around.
BEST THING THAT HAPPENED! I now get to work at home and make 4-5 times what my old boss made. At the moment, I'm feverishly saving up for a 2004 Viper (black or yellow, can't decide!). James |

MM,
I could have written your post for you at the end of last month. At the end of June for not doing something trivial such as redundant (REDUNDANT) 6 AM backups. I got let go. How does this happen? I design an enterprise that supports 3 Database programs two North American and One Global and after much tweaking I thought I was home free to explore the technologies more in depth. WRONG. The Status Quo who was there before me will still be there after me. It blows my mind that the people who somehow disappear when responsibility comes around the corner can still have jobs and I'M the one who gets bounced for something trivial! GRRRRR. As the sole wage earner I now have to find something quick to take care of my family and myself. Needless to say the Viper purch has been shelved until further notice. Oh well, thats how the ball bounces. Jay K. |

Mad,
Sorry to hear your news. I agree with everything Viperess said. I left my former employer because of ethics and now I do consulting work full time on my own. That being said I believe things happen for a reason. Sometimes it seems like you are on a wild roller coaster. When it seems like nothing else can go wrong, it does, and all you can do is laugh, go drink a little(celebrate, it was not worse), and keep on plugging. I do consulting and have experienced the following in the last 2 years: I have had clients back out of long term agreements...Screwed Lost jobs that I should have gotten...Stupidity.... Hired bad accountants....Back taxes and penalties... Hired bad lawyers..... Bad decisions But here I am still moving right along, just look at your whole experience as, "an opportunity to get to do something that you normally would not have tried." P.S. Everything is an opportunity. Robert |
