Doesn't it suck to know that your getting laid off in a few months? Even more, that the co-workers you have are worthess, but kiss so much @ss they get to stay? I can't kiss @ss, it's just not in my nature.
Ugg.. oh well, as long as it's not before my wedding I can give exactly 2 sh*ts. Filled out all the crap for my business stuff today, and have 5 other producs in development right here in my little garage. 2 of them kicka$$, the other 3 are just ideas (but look good). I'll be ready, mabey even before they get around to it i'll say adios! MM |

MM,
Sorry to hear about your layoff. Fight off the emotion and stay and lame duck it and at least get any severance $s you are due. Keep us informed on your business. Good Luck! |

Max, you are on the brink of a new direction in your life. Stay faithful, and implement your ideas with the confidence of a rapist.
God willing, you will do fabulously. If not, you did the right thing anyway, and will have no regrets. Wish you the best! |

Getting fired was the best thing that ever happened to me. That's not the way it felt at the time, but that's the way it turned out. Don't sweat it, another door will open, hopefully with a brighter future for you behind it!!
Good luck!! |

I've seen the writing on the wall for a few months now, business has just not picked up where I work, and the budget for next year IT funds is like NONE. It was actualy a negative number
![]() I've always wanted to own my own business, and now is the BEST time for it. Ive got enough resources to live off of, and initial costs of getting off the ground. I *might* have to sell the viper, but only as a safeguard, as it would put a large chunk of change at my disposal to promote the products and farm out work. Everything will be cool, I just was in a blah mood yesterday thinking about all the corporate politics I have to deal with, and how I told myself I would NEVER be like "those people"... and, well, I have My father was a bigshot executive, and I firmly belive the stress is what caused all his health problems. Having to fire older guys with families to bring in these 20 year old freaks from china and stuff really hurt him. And it got BAD the last few years. He told me to never live my life like that, and I take that to heart. "Love what you do, and do what you love". I love cars, I will ALWAYS love cars. I've owned 50 in the last 5 years, buying and selling, and 99% of the time making money off of the deal. Just my way. MM |

I too went through a similar experience. 12 years with tech company. 3 partners and me took it to over 50 employees and 95% of market. Sales and profits grew by 30-40% a year, margins in the same range. They brought a consultant in to sell the business. Can you guess what's next? He became CEO, bought the only competion (5% of market, never made a dime). Managed to sell out to investors for a ton. Our CEO got canned, former competitor (who I ran out of business) became my boss. Still took the moron almost 9 months to get rid of me. I was waiting for 18 months. Had finally given up when it happened.
Had always dreamt of travelling the world and having no responsibilities. So sold the house, the Viper, and everything else I could. Could not find anyone to buy the Yellow Prowler(please, if you know of anyone to buy or store...) so that is my only headache now. Spent 6 months getting all that settled. Have spent 6 months in New Zealand, currently on the 3rd month in Australia. Up in Cairns, where the rainforest meets the reef... Anyway, sucks to be pushed out by idiots, but I never was good in politics and that company was sucking the life out of me. My life of relative scarceness has become worse with the stock market crash. But now that I have almost no money in stocks, it can't lose more then another 50% (I hope) So, while my life isn't as normal as it was, I'm doing something now that was always a dream. Just like owning the Viper. Good luck!!! |

The Prowler is a 99, Yellow, about 9k miles on it. Perfect unmodified condition.
Australia is great! They have one state here with no speed limits on the highway. Shame I'm in an old toyota wagon and not my Viper.... |

Sorry to hear about the situation, but, as others have already said, things will work out in time, you will see. I believe that all things happen for a reason. Sometimes, when you are initially dealing with the particular situation, it may be difficult to "see" that. It may be difficult to see that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. But in the end, things so often work out for the better
![]() You are very wise to learn from others, in this case (your Dad) who offered you some major sound advice. We all know that it has been proven that stress leads to many different health problems. It is important to enjoy what you do, and yes, more importantly to do what you love, and feel good about yourself at the end of the day because of it. Life is too short to be spending time at a job that is just not you. Some people are just not the type who are able to work for others. Those are the people who thrive in their own business, who have "what it takes" to make it successful and prosperous. You MM, to me, seem to be one of those people ![]() I wish you the best of luck ![]() |
