If you referring to the Viperclub.org site than you have indeed been in a coma. Been around in various forms for many years. It started out as a private site and became part of the VCA much later. I am sure someone here could give an accurate history. I believe Jay Herbert was the original creator.

No the other site with a dot com in the title, & I guess the moderator has answered my question by blanking out the original url.

It's where all the "other" people go. ...it's a no-rules website. (Well, they do have rules, but the bar is much lower.)
Personally, they should have a place to "play", but I'm not sure the common public knows they're "independant", as the name is just toooo close. The domain name was for sale about 9 months ago, I high-bid it at $1,500, but they decided not to sell at the last minute. Go figure. Any how, the really fun part is they like to register "our" names over there... (JDR at that site is NOT me.) I e-mailed their owner... no response. My attitude... it won't last "forever"... This message has been edited by JDR on 12-17-2002 at 11:47 AM |

That's a stretch wouldn't you say? Not to say that there might not be another JDR over there but maybe that's the guys initials or something. Or maybe that title has some sort of significance to him inparticular, or he wanted it originally here but you already had it, hence his chance to get it. |

OK, since the other thread was locked (I'm checking into this)...
Here's the policy that pertains to the "****" ing out of the link: 7. Links, or specific descriptive mention (by declaring their name, even if it is not an exact link) of web sites that do not meet the policies set fourth in our existing policy guidelines, or that use licensed or copywrited material without permission is prohibited I hope this helps. |

Uh, ok, everyone is entitled to their personal freedom, and all, but...
I don't see why one site should allow free advertising for another site. Like if you went to a Lexus dealer, and asked them if you could put a placard in the showroom, with a picture of an Infinity Q45 on it. Of course they won't let you do that! And should they? That analogy is not a perfect equivalent, but its close enough to show that competing groups are not obligated to advertise for, or facilitate, each other. How come there are so many people who don't recognize that this site is regarded by DC as an extended advertising arm? I'm not saying anything about what is right or wrong, I am only stating the truth as I see it. The world revolves around money, and the sooner you see that, the clearer everything else becomes. There is no "deep dark mystery" about it! By applying a little thought, one can easily see why things are the way they are. What an individual wants to DO with their new found revelation is up to them, they can either walk away, or accept it for what it is. The hippies of the 60s worked for change within the system, and now they are the yuppies, and part of the establishment. Lets grow our hair long again, I can take out my Jimi Hendrix albums, we'll have a party, and we can dream of utopia, and get excited over endangered butterflies, or other equally stimulating and important issues that give our life meaning. Its a car site, get over it! |
